SORRY but it sounds like you have had it.
unless you can get it out with out cutting a hole and re-welding a plate over it then it is broke for good.

How did the sensor break? Were you trying to remove it or did it just shatter?
This is important as you can tell if metal (alloy) fatigue or brute force was to blame in its removal !
Heating up the engine and cooling down has no impact on trying to blow the component out as it has a tapered thread and needs unscrewing.
Without being patronising , you should take the car to a garage for a mechanic to solve, you could do more damage and cost a lot more money by going down the road with easyouts.
Either that, live without a temp. gauge (not a good idea)

You need to use a broken stud remover, you can get these from your local halfords. Look for the ones that look like a fine corkscrew. You will need to drill a hole through the temp sender and then screw the stud remover into it to remove it.

your description is still vauge buy a telescopic magnet (snap on or sealey) and see if the centre comes out (could try thick grease on a rod first) the copper tube may be persuaded to come out using thin circlip pliers in expand mode.

If you cannot unscrew-it, which I assume is the case, then try using something sharp and hooked to pull-it out and dentists pick may do it.
