My well maintained Yukon has been shutting down while I am driving it. No power and completely dead when I tried to start it up. I turned on my emergency flasher and it hesitated but it started flashing so I tried to start it again and it turned over. So I took off again and it seemed like when I gave it gas or came up to the stop light it completely died again. I flipped the emergency flasher on again and when it finally started flashing I turned started the engine and headed for home. On the way up the hill to my house it died about 5 times but I finally got in into the driveway. I went out this morning and it started up fine so I drove it around my neighborhood and was fine. I am afraid to take it on the highway for fear that it will shut off when I am going 60mph in traffic. A friend mentioned maybe the ingition power modulator, oxygen sensors, power fuse box? I had just filled up with gas when this started happening. Suggestions appreciated! Don't want to go to dealer!

There is a huge puddle of what I assume is coolant under my car. Seems like it is coming from under the center of the engine. I just filled up my reserve tank and it is totally bone dry after I drove it for a few hours. I drive a 97 Jeep Grand cherokee. It has around 160,000 miles and otherwise is in good shape. Could I have a leaky hose?

An air conditioner's compressor causes the engine to run at higher rpm. But the same may not be true in heating. In fact, I think it is merely the engine's exhaust heat that is diverted to heat the air inside the cabin. Is that true?

Ok my car is making a squeaky noise so I was worried about it. I took it to a family owned type of shop. He got my keys and drove it around for 2 minutes or so and told me I probably need a change of 4 new brake pads for 350$.From what I've heard, the only proper way to checking what's wrong with the brakes is to lift the car and remove parts to fully understand the problem. This guy however, didn't look under the car or even thorough the rims, can he be trying to scam me?

I'm not talking about the brake lights. It's the rear lights (the ones that turn on when you turn on your headlights to drive at night). The brake lights work fine, but rear lights won't turn off. Any ideas? It's a Subaru. Any silly comments about sending the car to an excorcist will be flagged lol. Thanks guys!

I have a dent in the drivers door of my 95' Cutlass Ciera and would like to know if anyone know the best way to fix it. My car is otherwise in mint condition in and out and the dent makes the whole car look a mess. I used to get compliments on how well kept the car is, especially for its age and now that's all gone down the drain. Can anyone offer some advice. I don't want to spend a lot of money at a body shop; they want $1500 and I'd rather use that money for better things.

The manual doesn't say if it is diesel or gas. It is 2006, I was told they have 160deg therm. in them, I have to run winter front per dealer, then it gets to 210 and seems to run better, it seems engine fan runs all the time even without winter front.

Keeps turning over, no start. Fuel pump turns on. Battery is fine. Injectors are fine. I figure the fuel filter is bad or fuel pump is on it's way. Any insight?

We just washed the car and now the rear lights stay on even when we turn the car off. We tried taking out the fuse and putting it back and that didn't work. What could this be? Thanks.

I would like to hear from any ford mechanics who have ever changed the timing belt on the Zetec E 1.8 engine of the ford focus. Could you tell me what sort of condition the idler guide pulleys were in. I had my timing belt changed on that engine at a ford garage, but I am concerned because they only renewed the belt and tensioner and when I asked Vospers what is in the timing belt kit, they said just the belt and tensioner. It is a 1999 T 64000 miles, when will I need to change the pulley?
