My car has 90,000 miles on it, it's running fine but since I don't know much about cars I don't know if there's anything that needs to be fixed, filled, changed, etc. Is there a place or service I can get just to check everything in my car to see if anything is wrong, what needs to be replaced, fixed, and all that. I don't want to do a full tune up if I don't even know if something really needs to be replaced.

I have a 2000 Jeep with 90,000 miles on it and we got it used with 60,000. Should I get a tuneup and/or other services? There's nothing obviously wrong with my car that I know of and I heard people say it's wasting money to pay a shop if your car might be in fine condition. But at the same time, I don't want to ignore something little and my car end up dying. What do you suggest?

The housing for my air filter is cracked badly. I went to the ford dealer and got a ridiculous quote. I went to several junkyards and find that all of the windstars are gutted already.
A jiffy lube worker suggested I forget trying to find a box and go with KN&N filter.

Can I do this myself?
Does it simply connect to the mass air flow assembly?
What about the air intake tube that used to fit into the air filter box?

OUr 85 BMW 325e has sat in our parking lot for about 4 months. We tried to start it and realized the battery was dead so we put a new fresh battery in it. It still won't start. We had AAA come out & add additional gas to the tank...won't start. We replaced the fuel line about 5 months ago.

This vehicle is fuel injected.....any suggestions?

I have a 96 Chevy Blazer, It has had problems a while back with the cigerete lighter, whenever you use it it blows all the fuses, so we stoped using the cigarete lighter, and now, dad gives truck to me, And i get a radar detector and siruis radio, which plugs in into the other 2 electrical outlets things that are like a cigarete lighter but are not, and when you turn the truck off, they radar detector and radio stay on... Why dont they turn off when the truck turns off?

The tranny just went out on my truck a 2 wheel drive automatic and I am wondering if anyone can help. Since august the shifting between 1st and 2nd gear was really hard (had a bad kick to it). I drove for a while knowing it needed to be fixed but didn't have the money. Just over a week ago I was at a stop light and when I started going right where it should have shifted to 2nd it felt like I shifted to neutral. No weird noise clanking or anything just gone. Now I am trying to figure out if I need to get a new one or if I can rebuild it. I found a guy that has the 4L60E transmission he is taking out of a Blazer but it is a 4 wheel drive. Can this work or not at all. Any help at all would be great.

my 1995 ford escort, has start cutting off on me lately, it just started 2days ago when i have it in neutral or just having my foot on the clutch, after a whitle at the stop light it will cut off... its not over heating, but there is a hissing sound coming from the engine when its on. i havent had a tune up or a oil change, and i bought the car about 2 1/2 months ago it runs good this stuff just started happening... im in between jobs right now and wont have one for about 3 more weeks, so sadly i cant afford an oil change nor a tune up right now... my main question is does anybody know what this is? and if you so, is it minor or big time? will i be able to ride it out untill i get some money to fix it? please help me id really appreciated it thank you

It's a 6 cyl. automatic transmision. It will go into reverse with no problem, but when I put it into drive it don't want to go. If it does it's real slow about it. It doesn't want to go over the 3 in rpm. If someone has some helpful info on what the problem might be, awesome! Thanks, lop

Just put ina new thermostat, and the heater core seams fine. When the moter is at normal operating temp. and you shut off the heater fan for a couple of minutes and the turn it back on, it blows hot air but only for a minute, the turns to slightly warm(more cool) air. Any suggestions would be great
