Salt residual was on my car about a week and sticked to the paint on the door. Car wash and waxing didn't work. Some of the mark was removed by finger nails. But I found scratches after that. My car is only 3 months old. I don't want to remove the clear coat. Please help!!!

Follow the process carefully. First wash, then clay (will remove the salt), then polish, then wax. I don't want to repeat what is available online so just read this how- to carefully:

Waxing just sealed it on. You need to remove all the wax on the car down to the clearcoat. Plain water will get the salt off once you've removed the armor plating you encased it in.

Warm water and soap, and then wax the surface again.

Warm water will dissolve the salt, and the wax you put over it!
