I have a 96 Chevy Blazer, It has had problems a while back with the cigerete lighter, whenever you use it it blows all the fuses, so we stoped using the cigarete lighter, and now, dad gives truck to me, And i get a radar detector and siruis radio, which plugs in into the other 2 electrical outlets things that are like a cigarete lighter but are not, and when you turn the truck off, they radar detector and radio stay on... Why dont they turn off when the truck turns off?

They are called powerports and are not controlled by the keyswitch.Meaning they are connected to a wire that stays hot all the time.

Umm, I have electrical problems with my Blazer as well. I think it's just a bad vehicle alltogether. It has a list of problems as long as my arm. I looked it up on Consumer Reports and it said that the Chevy Blazer is THE WORST used car to get. I sure wish I'd done my homework before buying that deathtrap.

some vehicle cigarette lighter has constant power . ignition off and there is 12 v .if car keeps blowing fuse check outlet for shortage ,it may seem fine but when you plug in any device some of the ground material makes contact with power in the unit causing the fuse to pop

Those plugs are always 'hot'. They stay on all the time just as they were designed to do.

They are wired into a always on circuit, you need to rewire them into an ignition on circuit.

they are working exactly as designed to. so your phone will still charge even if the vehicle is not running
