It's a 6 cyl. automatic transmision. It will go into reverse with no problem, but when I put it into drive it don't want to go. If it does it's real slow about it. It doesn't want to go over the 3 in rpm. If someone has some helpful info on what the problem might be, awesome! Thanks, lop

either you are really low on transmission fluid or the trans is slipping badly, get it to the shop if not low on fluid and have them change the fluid and filter in the trans and that could possibily save it, don't wait long.

Have you checked the trans fluid level? If OK then take to a reliable mechanic and get an estimate to fix or replace. Could be just the linkage.

I think your transmission is shot, a good sign is that it would shift into a higher gear other than first. Key: for your next car buy foreign. Foreign car parts a much more expensive hence they don't break easy.

ok not trying to be funny. but its your transmission your drive is going out. or mite be low on transmission fluid. hope ite the 2nd one. good luck

Try releasing the parking brake.
