how much can I expect to pay to get it repaired at a shop.

I took my truck to it's dealer for repairs (running rough, misfiring, etc.) $600 later, the problem is still not fixed.

I feel they either didn't do the work they claimed or they did the wrong work. What rights do I have?
I feel I should get a refund for the fact nothing was fixed.

I bought the truck 4 weeks ago, it ran fine until the dealer filled the tank with obviously cheap gas. They even admitted a few other cars were having the same issues. But they refused to address the issue of the bad gas. I asked them to drain and flush the tank, replace the filter, etc...a general fuel system repair.

They told me they'll "put it on the computer and see what the issue is". Then came back and told me it needed a general tune up...plugs, boots (they claimed number 8 was misfiring) and an injector service. Totalling just under $600. On the way home, it started up again. Nothing was fixed at all.

I have a 1984, Ford F-150, with only 78,000 miles on it. I have already had it inspected, changed oil, put carb cleaner in it, and have had the carborator cleaned out as it was making it stall and cut off. Well recently, my truck has been cutting off alot, even if i left it on for a long time. It would be moving then just turn off, steering wheel lock up, and all of that and i would have to recrank it and go. Well a few days ago, it got really bad. It caused me to have a wreck today, when i came around a turn with a stop sign only going 40 mph (tops) and it cut off, locked up my wheel and the breaks werent as responsive because it was not cranked up. I went head first into a ditch. There was no damage at all to the truck or me, but i want to know is there anyway at all to cure this problem of it cutting off for good?

Recently I had my EGR valve and DPFE sensor replaced on my vehicle. I just recently went to have an emissions test done and they are telling me I have little to no exhaust coming out of my vehicle. They said it is probably a blockage. Can that be fixed without a huge expense or am I going to have to replace my catalytic converter? If my converter needs replaced is that possible to do on your own or does it have to done by a repair shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado, 152000 miles, that has developed a low roaring sound that seems to come from the rear end when moving forward. The mechanic proposed to "replace driveshaft center support bearing and check u-joints when driveshaft is removed". Part needed is the "center support bearing assembly".

Since the wheel bearings could be a source of the noise, I asked that they be checked. The report was that "right rear axle seal leaking, wheel cylinders leak, brake shoes soaked with grease. Recommend rear brake service package due to grease leaking onto rear brake lining". Parts recommended are pads/shoes, wheel cylinders for the 2 rear wheels, and a rear axle seal.

To the mechanics out there--Do these sound like reasonable solutions and recommendations? How much should this cost?

Thank you!

I live in Montreal, Quebec where it is below zero weather.I discovered when I would go to start my 91 Dodge Caravan in the morning, if I did not step on the gas pedal and let it heat up for awhile, I could drive it just fine, but I noticed that when I accelerated it after not warming it up so long, that it would stick to the floor, and the gas would be at full blast.

After paying the mechanic $175 for labor and a computer part, it's been almost a week now since I drove the vehicle, and I just discovered its still sticking even though the mechanic said that it required a new compiuter part, which he installed. Nothing has changed. The pedal is still at full blast whe nI step on it.

What are my rights ? Must he refund my money, or still do the work until I am satisfied, and I subtract what I already have paid him ? I don't know if the laws vary from provicnce to province, as to what are the rights of a client or warranty on work done. Anyone have ideas ? Sundays he's closed.

I'm sick of getting robbed by mechanics, and I think I'm ready to get my hands dirty. I was just wondering how expensive and difficult it would be for me to replace an oxygen sensor on my car. Also, I think my thermostat needs replacing too. Thanks for the help. By the way, I drive a 98 Subabru Legacy GT. Thanks again.

When I start my car in the morning, the oil pressure is a little bit after the NORMAL measure. When the car warms up and I am going 70-80 on the highway, the line is on the O of NORMAL. When the car is warm and the RPM goes up and down, the line goes from like the MA of NORMAL to the O of NORMAL. It started doing this 1.5 years ago and someone told me it's just a dirty sensor and don't worry about it. I have a 1994 Ford Probe GT with 130,000 miles.
Several weeks ago, after I drive on the highway and stop after that with the engine idling, I can smell something like rubber burning. I can only smell it when the car is on the stop lights or idling. The car does not leak oil and I don;t think it burns it, too. Please, help. Thanks so much.

What does the capacity of the car measure? I assume it is the sum total in volume of the cylinders when the pistons are fully in downstroke. This would mean that each cylinder would have a volume of 0.4 L if the car has 4 cylinders.

I am just assuming here. Please clarify. Thanks!!

My car just died on me, but before it died it was kinda jerking alittle.
I try to turn it back on and it just cranks with out fully going on. People are telling me to check the Spark Plugs. What else would cause my car not to start?
It has full gas tank, new oil change.
