I took my truck to it's dealer for repairs (running rough, misfiring, etc.) $600 later, the problem is still not fixed.

I feel they either didn't do the work they claimed or they did the wrong work. What rights do I have?
I feel I should get a refund for the fact nothing was fixed.

I bought the truck 4 weeks ago, it ran fine until the dealer filled the tank with obviously cheap gas. They even admitted a few other cars were having the same issues. But they refused to address the issue of the bad gas. I asked them to drain and flush the tank, replace the filter, etc...a general fuel system repair.

They told me they'll "put it on the computer and see what the issue is". Then came back and told me it needed a general tune up...plugs, boots (they claimed number 8 was misfiring) and an injector service. Totalling just under $600. On the way home, it started up again. Nothing was fixed at all.

you generally have 30day warranty on anything that they did.if you brought it in for a specific problem and it has not been repaired ,take it back.they should warranty it for you.if not ,inform them that you will call the better business bureau.but first try to speak to the manager.if this is a manufacturing dealer, tell the service dept. that you want to speak to the owner.
could give better advice if i knew the year and model, plus mileage.and did you buy from a private party?

Maybe, Maybe not. I doubt it.

You may want to check with the Better Business Bureau, to see if anybody else has filed a petition against them for bad business practices.

Did you get a chance to see what the computer said?
Did you state on the paper what the problem was to be fixed?

$600.00 for a tune up? Yeah, you got taken.
That's why it is good to get several estimates from several companies.

Take it to someplace else for a diagnosis.

If I were you, I would call the dealer, speak to the manager and inform them that the problem is still not fixed. I don't think the dealer wants any complaints. If they turn around and tell you the problem is from some electronic module, then I'd be mad, because it was already diagnosed by a computer.

I had a problem with my car recently and had the same trouble you are having. Four trips to the dealer, and all they could say was "The technician couldn't find anything wrong on diagnostics."
I figured out that the dealership was clueless because the care was bearly driveable. If you bought the truck just four weeks ago, they should fix it just to keep you happy. For me, $86.00 per diagnostic, and no remedy really ticked me off. Not to mention the inconveniece!

I networked through friends; found a reliable MECHANIC, and he found two minor problems that the dealer's computer diagnostics wouldn't recognized. Both problems were fixed within two hours, and the car is running great again.

Look for a repair shop with a mechanic instead of a technician.

Yes you have recourse. file a formal (written complaint) with their service dept and if no action, 2-3 days then contact your better business bureau as well as the vehicle manufacturer. Be sure to save copies of all correspondence and invoices. also your state may have a lemon law that may allow you to return the truck for a full refund. Check your state bureau of automotive repair, probably have web site or at least be in the yellow pages. I would think you should not be charged in the first place as a new vehicle is warranty, if new.

You need to take it back and tell them they didn't fix the problem talk to the service manager and tell him that you brought it to be fixed they charged you 600.00 and it is still not running right.

check on line for legal assistance........or find a lawyer...............you do have a case if the dealer refuses to reconcile........best get a confirmation on bad fuel first.
