i need to take the steering wheel off my fiesta si 1995 do i need to immobilize the airbag if so how do i do this, as i want to fit an aftermarket steering wheel.

just make sure that when you disconnect the airbag that your battery is also disconnected. so just disconect the battery first thats all. abd then remove the airbag. after doing this there is a good possability that the airbag light will come on after you remove it.

Disconnect the battery and wait at least 30 min before you disconnect the airbag.
WARNING: removal of the airbag could cost you EVERYTHING you own if you sell your car or let someone else drive it and it is involved in an accident and there are injuries. It doesn't matter if the fact the missing airbag made any difference, a pond-scum lawyer will be able to convince a jury it DID and you will have the pants sued off of you.

Disconnect the battery and wait AT LEAST 30 mins before removing the airbag. The airbag module stores charge in a capacitor and can still go off without being connected to anything.
The 30 minute wait allows the charge to dissipate. Make sure you've got your radio code handy!

If you succeed in removing the air bag you will have the Air Bag Warning light illuminated, I think this would be an MOT failure. Suggest check with your local MOT station before proceeding. NB there are some nasty chemicals in the explosive charge

Bang on the air bag in the middle of the steering wheel but dont be in front of it Make sure of your insurance if you change your steering wheel that disposes with an air bag.

I'd say yeah it's a little overpriced. I am currently selling my 2003 Accord EX-L for 10,950.
