Is there a difference in the smell? Unfortunately Mr. GorgeousFluffpot forgot to write on the fuel cans what he had put in there, and now he is looking to me to find out. How can we tell what they are from just looking or smelling ...

94 Century, 3.1L sputters and shakes, sometimes misfires when cold, then runs normally when engine warms up. Have tried PCV valve and oxygen sensor. New plugs too.

the last 2 mornings its been in the lower thirties my thermometer gauge of course is on the blue as the car is warming up, and instead of gradually warming up the needle went all the way over as if it was HOT, the car wasn't over heating
when I restarted the car later the thermometer gauge was working properly,
any clue to why the needle would go over to HOT

Dear answers.yahoo helpers,
my 2000 honda accord ex-v6 (80K miles) has this misfire cylinder problem, showed check engine light so I got the OBDII done, codes were 0301, 0302, 0304, 0305, 0306, 0300, 1399...basically multiple cylinders misfired. This happens only during start, car runs fine once I shift to gear, doesn't seem to misfire while running. Can changing spark plugs resolve this? or could there be other issues, since it runs fine and has problems only during start, what else can be potentially bad? Please advise, thanks in advance.

i took my car in last week..it was mixing water in oil in the motor. the guy saids the heads blew. so i gave it to him cuz he said he could fix it. so i did and thru the week i got told that the heads were cracked..and the intake manifold needed to go to the machine shop. they got new bolts for it and new gaskets and new valves and did a tuneup, call me to get it, waited for an hr. watching them change mikshakey oil a couple of times and got told it couldn't start at first cause no pressure had been build up. well it finally started. and i paid them a crap load of money, drove 3 blks home and it got hot. next day was a sunday but i took it up there and left it. monday they see it, call me and ask me what up. i tell them it has the same prob. the oil and waters still mixing. they said they'll look at it again. call me 2 days later and say the block is cracked. it was internal and they didn't find it before. now, does this sound like BS. isn't it standard procedure and fairly simpletodo?

For the past year my friend's Accord (sedan, V6, automatic) has been sputtering, on some occasions stalling and not shifting properly. When some of the controls are on, i.e., the AC, the check engine light comes on but if they keep the defroster at a low speed the engine light won't come on.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My 1990 Ford Ranger is a 2.3 manual trany truck, 2 wd. I was driving it down the road last week when it all of a sudden turned off. First thought it was the fuel pump. Tested it, not that. Engine wants to start but just can't. Changed the fuel filter, wasn't that. Checked spark, spark plug wire fell apart. Changed spark plugs and wires. Still didn't work. Checked spark again on both sides (this four cylinder uses 8 plugs and wires coming from two seperate coils), spark on passenger side, no spark on driver side. Purchased new ignition coil, installed. Still, won't start. Purchased an ignition module, still won't work.

The way I see it, it might be the computer or it might be that I have to reset the fuel switch that normally shuts the fuel line down when an accident occurs. Problem is, I don't know where it is.

Furthermore, I don't know if I am heading in the right direction or not with this. Anyone with some experience in this matter, please reply.

Hello all!
We have a 2000 F150 and as of 2 months ago the ABS light has stayed on but the truck is driving and braking fine. Could it be a short in the sensor?

I've tried rubbing a hot water-soaked rag over the sticker repeatedly (which usually works for registration stickers on the windshield) but it still won't budge. The sticker is on the body/trunk and has been on for around 3 years already. I'm afraid to ruin the paint. Help!

I have a 99 honda accord EX and tiny amounts of oil spray from my exhaust, I only noticed it because I have to keepo adding oil to the engine every 2 weeks or so. After not seeing any oil spot near engine looked at muffler and there were spray marks on the ground. Why? Also My check engine light is on for O2 sensor or Cat Converter. Guessing this is reason why!
