first check antifreeze level if ok your probably looking at a thermostat change in the thermostat is stuck open, change and you'll be on your way

sounds like your coolatnt is low.
make sure you top off your over flow bottle and let it run at idle and fill it back up make sure you check it again a few days later you may have a leak

low fluid level , loose waterpump belt, poor water pump ,scale buildup in block/heater , try those , heat is good.
