I am Planing to do some body work on my car soon. it needs it bad. i have all the tools to do the job and i can figure things out for myself most of the time. but before i begin i want to know if there is some tricks i could use while i refinish the paint on my car. right now its just primer. I know it has to be clean and grease free of course. how would i go about painting the roof with ease and would i paint one pannel at a time or the full legnth of the car?

Its a Honda Civc 1.5L 4Door .The front right side wheel area and towards the centre of the engine area when i drive over rough roads or dirt tracks i get a rattling noise.Especially when I go over small stones or pebbles.What could be the problem and is it safe to drive under these conditions.

My freinds citroen saxo has just passed its MOT but it has an advisory for some play in a rear suspension bush. does anyone know how much this is likely to cost and is it worth it at this stage or should she wait untill next years MOT and see how bad it is then. it is only an advisory and she hasn't noticed anything when driving it.

ok so my car keeps over heating at fist i thought it was the thermostat so i changed it and the fans running fine it still overheated so i added water to the radiator and it was fine for like two weeks and then it started doing it again all said and done now the water isnt cutting it anymore and the tempature only rises when im driving slow or at idle i didnt blow a head gasket couse my oil isnt gray or silver

Manual Trans. Black smog on pipe. Had time belt changed a month ago. Was runing fine until now. It starts fine and drives fine, but when hot it will loss power about 1p to 20 mins after running, you need to gradually reduce the rpm, if you press the pedal won't get you power, so you will be reducing the speed until some point motor will stall. Won;t start again until cold.

Have cheked O2 sensor 0.7 volts, Map 110 Hz Working fine. EGR valve disconnected and vacum line plugged. Vaccum intake tested OK and steady.

Also some knocking sound when accelerating in 1st or 2nd speed.

theres so much more.always had lack of power....good;compression,fuel press,ex backpress,base time.tune up parts incl air & fuel,valve adj,yes correctly,camhaft pass visual insp......used to communicate w/modis,set idle speed,no codes...this was 1 yr ago....so now,no ses light,but does not like to start w/cold,idle erratic most of time,too hi,too low,stall will not comm w/modis.....c'mon man....dont hold back....give it too me staight....save my soon to be classic.....classic what!

The maintenance sign on my car had gone on a couple of days ago, but I ignored it. There was smoke coming out of my left rear wheel. It was scary because this happened while I was driving. Any idea what this could be? How much to fix something like this? It's a 99 Honda Accord

I went to another dealership after the first dealership blow me off. The second dealership indicates that the oil pan is leaking engine oil and needs repairs up to $150. I told him I did not had that problem the last time I was in the other dealership, so he said perhaps the last technician from the other place caused it, and find that there was a self tapping screw that caused the problem. Which dealership should I trust? Neither?

The gauge on my car used to hitting the "H" after driving for less than 10 minutes. I recently had a new O2 senser installed and now it seems to be working better. Does the o2 senser control the gauge along with everything else? Thanks

the other morning, my brake warning light came on, it was cold outside, however after about a half and hour the light went off and stayed off the rest of the day and the next day. It came back on tonight {it was cold and rainy out}. There is no noise coming from my brakes and they feel fine. Should I be concerned? What could be the cause?

My car makes a noise that sounds like metal scraping concrete, except it only does it when the car is not in gear. It even makes the noise when the car is not moving, so I know nothing is scraping the ground. It sounds like it is coming from underneath the car and not from the engine. Any thoughts?

i have run a engine diagnostic on it and i am getting two codes. one says engine running lean and the other says cylinder 6 is misfiring. i would assume that this means i have a bad plug, wire, or need to replace the dist cap or rotor. I have however been told by a couple people that the burning rubber smell indicates something more serious like a blown head gasket or craked head. any ideas on this ? i dont want to put alot of money into this car. thanks fir anyones help in advance...

I am having a problem with my brake warning light (on the console), that is supposed to come on when your emergency brake is on, is always lit up, no matter what, when I start the car it comes on and stays on until I turn the car off... Any ideas?

I've replaced the fuel pump, bypassed the front tank switch and running on the rear tank, but after I drive for a short while, less than a block or two it feels like I'm running out of gas. I removed the front tank (Long story) I wasn't getting ANYthing through the line(s) except air, but today for the first time in over a month I got fuel to the fuel pump after forcing compressed air into the rear tank to get fuel in the lines. Now I get a few blocks and it runs out of fuel again and it won't draw it in. Originally I thought a blocked inlet in the tank, but both tanks?
Any ideas?

Thanks... If I have to reword this let me know.. It's tricky I know..
