I had an MOT recently and it failed because the exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content was excessive and the Lamda reading was outside specified limits. Someone said that its possible that either the cars mixture is rich, its misfiring or the CAT is faulty.

My car has a faulty wheel bearing,in the past i have tried to determine which one it is but with no success.
Does anyone know of a tester i can fit to the wheels to find out which one is vibrating.I have already tried the method of jacking the car then wobbling the wheels to inspect for movement but this hasnt worked

all the tires on my car are currently 195 65 14inch tires. is it ok to buy two tires for the front that arew diffrent then the back, that is like 195 70 14 or 195 60 14 or 185 65 14?

Ok I can drive any speed or whatever but when I am accelerating to 45 mph is shifts cause its automatic and the speed from 45 to 55 the engine or something makes like crackling noise it not low oil or a valve I think its the timeing chain I don't know its a little metal like sounding and the vehicle is Dodge Dakota 1993 with 318 V8 5.2L engine. Also it only happens when after it shifts that I accelerate slow now if I give it more gas than usual it stops a little or all the way.

Today I checked my timing and it was at 8, which the specs say should be at 12. So I changed it. Recently I've noticed that I have been only getting like 17-20 mpg, and thats with a little 4 cylinder. Could the 4 degree difference explain my gas consumption, and should I be able to notice any more power? Though I will say that the car noticably idles smoother.

Bought a 1989 Dodge Raider and it rattles in the engine when it is idleing, A mechanic said it is the timing chain and not worth fixing just drive it until it goes completely then buy a different motor? Is it hard to repalce the chain? Does the head have to be pulled

The engine runs smoothly while idling. Even when I first take-off it accelerates fine. Then I come ot the stop at the end of my street. When I take off the second time it becomes really sluggish after it changes into the second gear. When I push the accelerator it really doesn't speed up and if it does it's not smooth. Since this first incident occured the computer hasn't recorded any error codes but it still occassionally happens. After the engine warms up it never happens again.
I will be having the fuel filter changed tomorrow. Any other possiblel causes. O2 sensor maybe?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a 1996 Lumina and I have to say that it has 150K on it and I have never had a problem with it and the last time it had a complete tune-up the mechanic told me that my car was in amazing condition and that I had obviously taken very god care of it.

I have a 1998 ford Taurus, and there is no heat I have changed the thermostat and I have flushed the coolant through every year and still theres no heat. The engine heats up and everything. I called the Ford dealership and they said to flush the hoses and everything with this flushing stuff you can buy. So I have done that the last two years i owned the car, Now it's winter again and I still have never had heat, the flushing has never worked. Should I bring it to the dealership to let them flush out my car. or should I just replace my heater core? Any Ideas??? My dad thinks the dealership will do something different than what we did and we followed the directions on the flushing bottle to a "T".. Please any help would be great!!!

the rear window on my IS 350 has some sort of distortion when the sun hits it, it kinda looks like bubbles. it only shows up when the sun hits it at a certain angle. i dont have any tinting on it but im not sure if this is normal or not.

I have a '95 volvo 960 and i've noticed that gas consumption has been pretty fast, I've only had the car for about 3 weeks, however, at times i smell a strong odor of gasoline, my dad had it looked at a mecanic once, but they told him no gas was leaking... if there is no leak, where is the gas odor coming from?

I have a 02 monte carl. When I put it in reverse the reverse lights will flash and I hear a clicking sound. That is the only time. That and when I hit the alarm and the lights come on I can hear it with the car off? Can someone help me?

94 Toyota Celica, well maintained, runs smoothly has a slow oil drip from the area of the oil pan. The dripping only occurs when the car is running; once the engine stops, the dripping stops within a minute or two. I need to add a quart of oil every two months or so to compensate.

My question is whether this is something to be concerned about and whether it has the potential to become worse and a more expensive repair over time if I ignore it.
