I went to start my car today it didn't start. It did nothing. All the appropriate lights and everything came on but alas the motor did not turn over. I replaced the starter about one month ago. It is a 1998 Nissan Sentra. My friend took a look and thought it could be a silinoide? Whatever that is and however that is spelled. Maybe it is the battery? Ideas? I like to know what I am talking about b4 I visit my mechanic. Thanks.

One of the turn signal lights on my vehicle is burnt out, usually my husband deals with maintenance so i have no experience with this. Is it as simple as I think it should be? do I just unscrew the cover and change the light bulb or is there more to it? Should I have a professional do it?

The vehicle is a 97 chevy work truck if that makes a difference

Soap, gasoline, oil? Anything you can think of that you would use in a pinch, like when you get a flat and have to fix it at a gas station, and cannot find a tire technician because they don't work on the holiday. Thanks.

For the past two weeks, it's been progressively slower to crank but would eventually turn over. Finally one day it just wouldn't crank at all. When I turn the key all the engine lights come on and I can hear the starter clicking. Opened, the hood. Some corrosion on the battery (it was only 3 years old). I put in a new battery anyway and cleaned the terminal cables. Still won't turn. Have power (always did) to lights, etc. I had the starter replaced a couple of years ago. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago. Any ideas of what this could be? When my starter died a few years ago, I had different symptons (would start sometimes, not others), but this seems different. The progressively slower and slower crank makes me worry that it's something mechanical? Any help? Please?

I even pulled it with my truck and the car drags along. How can I unlock the brakes to be able to push it by hand? Oh and yes the e brake is released!

I took a road trip and after several hours we stopped to eat. My car would not shift into reverse but it would shift into drive (automatic transmission ford escort 1997 130K miles). I opened the hood and saw transmission fluid that had been spewed out while I had been driving.

I remembered that a few weeks earlier I put a fluid in my transmission that seals leaks, and extra transmission fluid as well. I thought maybe the fluid that seals leaks also swelled something that made the transmission act bad.

I was able to get out and drive the rest of my trip and the transmission was always slow to shift and change gears.

When I got to my destination, I let the car cool down and tested the transmission and it was able to shift to reverse again (it hesitated to) and work decently.

I checked the fluid and it was full, red, and smelled sweet (not a burned smell) which is good.

Is a transmission filter possibly plugged? What is going on? Could I burn up my tran by driving it home?

My car is 96 chevy prism. Especially in the winter, my car is very noisy (I think it's from somewhere further than glove compartment, I assume that it's the engine) until it gets warm and usually it takes 20-30 mins. when I wait for traffic light, even passers-by can recognize the noise. In the summer it's totally o.k .
Do I have to do something? Thanks!

This is a repeat from another question, but here goes:
OK, my truck acts like it's running out of gas after running a block.
I've replaced both the fuel pump and filter and nearly all of the rubber fuel lines. I've removed one tank because I thought maybe it was the tank causing the problem (dual tanks), but I get the same problem with both tanks. Now I only have the rear tank connected to anything at all and the front lines blocked off. I have the switch inside the frame by-passed so there is no way the switch can be causing the problem.
At first I was getting NO gas at all to the fuel pump and I had thought maybe because the lines were empty I was sucking to much air and had to flood the lines to get the air pocket out of the way, but now I have gas in the line fine after a block it still feels like it's starved for gas. I have plenty of gas now in the tank because I siphoned plenty out of the front tank and put it in the rear tank so that one is out.

I have had the codes read by a mechanic and that is what he told me the problem was and I changed out the sensor. The light is still on. There was alot of dust and some metal thing in it and a magnet. But put on new one and the car still runs and operates like it did before.

I have a '75 plymoth valiant.

When I make turns ONLY at slow speeds, the wheel gets tight/stuck and hard to turn. Once I give it some more gas, immediately the steering wheel loosens up again.

This happens even after power steering fluid is added.

This has never happened before with this car, so it's not normal.
