My check engine light came on in my 2002 Chrysler Town and Country a few months ago. I took the van to a parts store where they determined the code to be a vacuum leak. I have checked all over the motor and have not found a cracked or damaged hose anywhere. The vehicle is starting to act up now. It is hard to start and when it does start it is low on power- tourque. Once it gets going it will act just fine until the next time you start it up after a good cool down.
Any ideas?

I have an 87 Chevy Celebrity that surges. It will run really good for a couple of hours and then all of a sudden it will start surging and run really bad like it needs new plug and wires. When the car is surging it will go 20mph without mashing the gas and uses double the gas than I usually use.

I have replaced the plugs, wires, oxygen sensor and idle air control valve. I cant find the crankshaft sensor to replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I took my car to get it inspected today and the emission test failed. It seems like the
P0037 and P0031 which are the Heater Control Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 2 and 1 are the problem. I don't know how much this will take to get it fixed. If there is an easy and cheaper way that I can do, please tell me. I don't know much about this but any help and answers are appreciated. Thanks.

P.S.
If you need any more information please let me know.

Yesterday my 206 had the exhaust pipe between the cat and the engine replaced, it also had its MOT done which it passed but with an advisory of needing a new oxygen sensor. After picking the car up it started chugging and losing power to the point where it eventually cut out, I took it back to the garage today and they said it wouldn't be anything todo with the new pipe an to see how it goes. I have just got home and on the journey it did the same again losing power and chugging - the only way to get it moving and increase its power was to floor the accelarator (which isn't ideal as I can't drive around with my accelarator floored!).When I was at traffic light it did the same and cut out - the only way I could keep it going was to rev the hell out of it!Fault was not htere the whole journeybut got progressively worse. What could this be?Is it the oxygen sensor(what does this do?),exhaust or fuel pump/filterproblem?Please help, also any indication of cost would be much appreciated.

Long story short, 1 day before I replace all 4 tires, my back passanger tire gets a flat. Its unfixable...my problem is my parents are buying me the 4 tires, which requires me to get to their home town which is about 50 highway miles away, so they can come w/ me and basically pay the bill. If I keep it under 50 mph, and drive in the right lane, will the donut be okay for the trip?

I had the "engine" light come on about 6 months ago. I had Autozone check the code. It came up "EGR valve insufficiant flow" or something close to that. I bought an EGR vavle factory direct off of ebay and put it in. I cleared the code (disconnect battery). But after driving a few miles the light came on again. I had autozone check it again and it came back the same. What am I missing? It is just a plug and 2 bolts.

I have a 1991 Dodge Colt and the engine likes to squeal, especially when it's cold. My parents say that it could be a worn belt, however, when the timing belt snapped (or broke or whatever it did) I had virtually no warning. When that snapped, I was driving down the highway at 55 mph when all of a sudden my engine stopped working and I was unable to restart it. Could another belt be worn out and ready to snap? Yes, I realize that I should get something else for transportation, but give me the money and I'll be more than happy to.

I am trying to figure out what the root cause for this problem could be. The vehicle performs fine, for one its age, around town and short drives. When I travel on the Interstate for more than 30 or so constant miles, or if I run around town for about an hour constant, it begins to act as if it not getting any fuel.

Plenty gas in the tank and the pressure is good... Field checked it and unless it can possibly be "too high", it looks to be fine.

Filter was changed about a year ago. Plugs done about 3 months ago.

Any idea?

I was just kind of wondering about something concerning cold air intakes. One of the selling points that C A I manufactuers lean on is how they improve gas milage by taking in a higher cold air to gas ratio in the combustion chamber, or something to that effect. However it seems to me, and logic in general, that the supposed extra air rushing through the "mass airflow sensor" would send a message to the cars computer that there IS way too much air intering the combustion chamber and that it needs to be compinsated with an increase gas flow. Therefore actually resulting in lousy mpg's

I want to connect a device to the OBD connector (it draws less than 100mA) and have that power there even when the engine is off. I have tried on one engine and found that when the engine is off, the power is not passed through. If this is typical, is there a way to enable this? I guess it might be different per vehicle then? If you could enable this, would it potentially voice engine warranties?

My car's petrol tank's inner surface has got rusted, because I drove it rarely since past 4-5 months. From outside the tank seems prefectly okay. Now I use my car frequently & I have burned around 60 litres of gas, by refilling & driving, but everytime the car's fuel filter (beneath the oil tank) get blocked by some rust coming out from the tank. I have to change the filter repeatedly, otherwise my car starts missing. Whenever I remove the filter I see presence of rust particle in petrol. Even after one & half month & 5 - 6 filter exchanges, I wonder why the rust is still clogging the filter & from where its coming. By now 60 litres of petrol has been circulated from the tank. Moreover, I am getting fresh gas filled from relaible station. (There are also no traces of water in the tank)
PS: its my old car (around 8 yrs) & I dont want to spend money in replacing the oil tank. Therefore please suggest any alternative & economical remedy.
Thanks for lending your precious time.
