I'm in Germany at the moment and the parking brake will not pass inspection. When the parking brake is engaged, the truck will not go forward, but when you gas in reverse it will move and make a sqeeky sound. I know that there is an emergency brake shoe seperate from the disc brake? But why is the parking brake working in one direction but not in the other. I plan to replace the brake shoe, but i'm not sure if this is the correct thing to do. I have tightened the e-brake cable. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank-you!

I was thinking of purchasing either a hyundai or kia becauwe the price seems right. But I remembered that everytime my cousin wanted to change a part like an oil filter or air filter, he had to buy it from the honda dealer at what seemed to be an inflated price (this was back when honda's first came out in the US). Does hyundai and kia have parts available at my local parts store?

My 1998 Jeep Cherokee makes a loud thump when shifted from drive to reverse and from reverse to drive especially with the wheel turned to the extreme left or extreme right (much louder than a u-joint), and it shakes when I take a curve. I'm pretty good with car repairs but I haven't found the root of the problem. I've taken apart the transfer case and rear end and found no mechanical problems.Normal backlash for an 8 1/4, and no wear on the transfer case. To add to the the confusion the front shaft is out and all of the above listed issues are still occuring. Any thoughts? The transfer case is ok, and so is the rear end. I have the front drive shaft out, and the engine mounts are good. Could it still be in the front end? I have uneven tire wear (it appears as if the tires are cupping). The transmission shifts good, and doesn't slip. I'm finding it hard to believe that it could be in the transmission or rear end. Any thoughts? Please Help!

I have checked battery, oil, and the gas. I jump it to get it going, but then I have to keep my foot on the gas so that it doesn't stall again. Please help! Thnx.

It always turned over quickly with no problems. My Burban will usually turn over the first time trying, like it always has; however, turning it off (even before it warms up) and starting it again, it will just keep cranking. I let it set for sometime, and it will start again, but turn it off, and back on, and it wont turn over. I had it hooked up to a code reader, and it said everything was ok, of course if that were true, I would'nt be having starting trouble. I just replaced the cap and rotar, and same trouble. Can anyone help me? It's a 97 GMC Suburban 4X4 with the Vortec 350.... I'm begging for help.

I've already added one litre...do I need to put in more or is that too much? It doesn't have a gauge or a dip stick. The compressor was a gift and didn't come with a manual, and the brand is one of those generic brands (probably out of China) called American Force (no, not from the tire company). Any ideas?

I have trouble with my central locking, on my 1994 VW GOLF,
on the front passenger door, unlock the drivers door,
it pops up then locks again, now my drivers side
is becoming stiff, and it no longer locks with the key fob,
I have checked all the fuses and, it's not connected to the fusebox, any ideas anyone?

The FRONT passenger power window does not go up any more. I checked the fuse box and every thing seems in order. It stopped working after I tried to role up the BACK seat passenger side window with my driver side control while my little girl was playing with it. She held her button down about 5 seconds while I pushed up from my control for her window. When she let go of the botton, her window went up just fine. Then I locked it her controls. That is when the Front passenger side window wouldn't go up at all anymore. Where could that have caused a short? I am hoping not to take inside of door apart or take it to the shop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. PS I have only 2 days of good weather left.
Thank you,

I know you can scan the computer using nothing more than a paper clip, but I need someone to explain how to read the "check engine" flashes. I turn the key to the on position (without starting) and wait for the check engine light to turn off. Then I insert the paper clip and get a series of - FLASH.......FLASH...FLASH. How do you count these? How do I know when it's giving me a trouble code?
