I own a 1997 Saturn SL2 that I bought as is from a dealership which was changed to a car repair shop. I was never really that fond of my car and the only reason I bought it was that my father had talked me into it since I didn't know much about cars at the time. I drove that car a few times and then I realized some problems...It had hot vapors steaming through the hood, there was oil allover the top of the engine and allover the sparkplug wire boots, it was spraying oil all over the top off under the hood and parts inside, as a result the oil got of the serpentine belt and pulleys and sludged up making it squeal under moderate acceleration. And I had a pool of oil under the car everythime I parked it! I've had the valve cover replaced numerous times with different mechanics and gaskets, I've had the pcv valve cleaned and I put on a new pcv hose and filtration stuff cause there was oil around that too. I've had the part under the valve cover scraped and more!
I just want it fixed!!!

The interior lining is like a velour in pale grey. I don't want to use anything that is going to stain or come out in a mark six months later.

Okay, now that my chevy got a blewn head gasket... were going to swap engines. We found a good one in pick n pull. so which is BETTER and FASTER pulling out the engine, or with the trans?

Pull out engine first and thats it?
Pull out both engine and transmission?
Pull out tranny first then engine?

Just bought a cool '02 Civic SI, but it was smoked in. A lot apparently as it reeks. ARRRRGGGHH. I don't want to just cover it up with wild cherry or bubble gum scent. Then it just smells like smoke skank and wild cherrys. Anybody found a way to really eliminate the smell? Hunter B.

disconnect the battery each nite because the electrics were faulty, keep an eye on the water...(a K reg diesel 1.7 Cavalier purchased for £250) Car used over two weeks ( approx 30 miles driven) and the above instructions followed.. to be informed later once the car was returned that the head gasget had blown and the financial implication of that lied with me which was £370 this price due to the fact that the car had been serviced and the radiator apparantly had a leak (told to me afterwards)... who do you think is at fault and how much do you think should be paid if anything??

hello all, ,just purchased a retired sherriffs car.i cannot get spark ...or fuel to the rails on my p71..ive replaced battery,fuel pump-filter-relayand fuse..i also have no spark...my check engine light is not on..it cranks,but of course no fire or fuel ..its not even trying to start ...[but cranks great]...i keep replacing parts but not getting anywhere......i would enjoy nothing better than to hear this p71 come to life..any input would be great.....Thanx....Angel Z....

The CEL light keeps coming back on, so I always have to reset the computer.. Noone can figure out what the problem is.. The gas-cap is brand new, the purge valve is replaced.. And I keep getting the same code. Plese give me an answer 'cuz I'm going nuts..

My mothers car is a Mercury Sable (I forget what year it is...96 perhaps...) and sometimes when she is driving it it will randomly start jerking and the speedometer bottoms out to zero or starts fluctuating really odd. However, when she takes it to the mechanic, it never acts up for him, so he cannot tell her what is wrong...does anybody have any idea?

My Volvo 740GLE (1990) has a brake light problem. I tried changing the bulb until I realize the brake lights work fine when the headlight is turned on (night time) but it won't work during the day when the headlight is not on. The problem is only on one side too. The center brake light works fine both day and night. Is there a different fuse for day and night? I just don't get it. Thanks in advance for any help!

i lifted my car yesterday with the floor jack on the desiginated lifting point of my car, but i only used 1 jack on the rear left and rear right sides to change my tires one by one. ( i first did the right side, then i went on to the left, so the car wasnt evenly lifted up on both sides, or front and back)
is there a possibility that the frame could have been bent from the uneven lift?
im wondering this because my auto tech teacher says that the frame for honda's are more eaisily bent than other cars

Ive had this nissan altima since the day I drove it off the car lot and about 3 months ago the head gasket was blown, ever since that Ive been looking for a good mechanic that I can trust to work on the vehicle I live in Dallas,TX and have been doing some research on price quotes and the majorityt of them all was of course TrophyNissan.com they were asking for about $3,200.00 dollars, and the mest up thing is that my vehicle had a recall last year over the catback and also the head gasket which were blown out last year also, but I had a 1 year warranty on the both of them and now since that warranty barely passed me over a month im forced and screwed to pay off the vehicle and also the maintenance, anyways I realized why does it cost so much many places the labor cost more than the parts lol, if anyone from the DallasFortWorth,TX area knows a good shop that can stick within the budget for me about $1500.00 or cheaper than that please let me know this is affecting my life alot GODBLESS

answer: a talented,old school body man doesnt know what a buffer is.i have painted 500 cars,i have never owned or even used a buffer.single stage baby!!!!!!!!!!!!
