i own a repair shop, and if you can its easier to pull the engine and tranny at the same time,,and this allows you to replace the front trans seal while its out,,this is always a good idea to do anytime you pull a trans out replace that front seal, but if you can pull it this way,,that's the best way to do it,otherwise you can still pull the engine out of it,it will just take a little longer to get it out,i think its faster for me to pull both, but you might be faster at just pulling the engine by its self,,good, luck,i hope this help,s.

Pull the engine and the tranny, that will be the quickest. You also have some extra pieces to use. The tranny comes in handy if you need a rebuild in the future...

Depends on the car. If it is a little front wheel drive I would try to get it in the air and drop the whole unit with the cradle. If it is a rear wheel drive leave the trans in place, and make index marks on the block where the converter bolt holes are on the flywheel/flex-plate

Pull out both engine and transmission, you just got to get the car high enough to tilt.

say a chant and wait for the engine pulling gnomes to pull it out at the stroke of midnight. If that doesnt work just yank the engine and trans out at the same time. it is alot easier to align it up that way.

I've always pulled out the engine and trannie together.
You gotta check the trannie anyway...saves steps.
Good Luck with a hard days work.
If your gonna rebuild, you might as well rebuild it all.
