No problem, although if it's new they might give you a hassle about your warranty in the unlikely case that your motor blew up!
Skipping one oil change is no big deal: it's people who get in bad habits and always go too long between changes that end up having engines full of sludge!
immediate damage only happens if you run the motor out of oil: that's like an automotive heart atttack!!!

YES. you can most definite cause engine damage by going over the recommended oil change interval. oil is recommended to be changed every 3 months/3000 miles. after this point the oil breaks down to a point that it will NOT protect the engine. and if you drive like most everyone else does, changing it a little early is even better. even regular drivers can be considered "severe" due to the stop and go driving that most people do. or if you dont drive very far, such as not putting enough miles during the 3 months, you still want to change the oil, because not driving much is just as bad since this does not allow the oil the heat up enough to remove water and contamination from its system.
ive been in the auto lube industry for many years. hope this info helps

You car is not damaged. The engine may have and I say may have but not necessarily, gotten a little more wear but it is still OK The oil change interval given in the owners manual is a guideline and nothing more. If you went 10,000 miles over a recommended oil change, you probably would have experienced a little more wear than normal but not nothing to worry about. To maximize engine life, you should try to adhere to the oil change intervals.
If you drive your car over ten miles or more, you will have no condensation of water in the engine. Water evaporates ay 212 deg F and will evaporate when the engine reaches running speed and operating temperature.
oil does not break down or wear out. Additives in the oil such as anti-oxidants, detergents and others are depleted over time and the oil doesn't do as good a job of lubricating the engine as new oil does.

It's probably ok. Modern oil lasts quite a while. Don't listen to the nitwit who said to do an engine flush. Those things destroy more engines than Jiffy Lube. Just change the oil a second time after a few hundred miles if it's really bad.

this is not good for an engine at all, oil this old is worn out and full of dirt and corrosive acid and is the worst thing for it, in every way
some ppl laugh it off and pretend its nothing, but its serious
if the oil is black then it is already to late and is full of dirt and worn out
need to change it a few times in a row one right after the other to clean it up internally
hope you dont plan on keeping the car for alot of mileage with this lack of care of it
i have been inside of alot of engines where ppl did not change the oil before it turned black and all i can say is that its not pretty AT ALL, and not jut slime and sludge, but metal colored deposits laying in the cylinder heads and such, the metal colored stuff is metal, worn off the bearings and other parts inside the engine, due to the worn out oil not doing a very good job of lubricating the parts
good luck

Sludge can kill an engine. Don't do that again and go to Auto Technician and in the confessional and say 50 hell nugnuts! Oil cannot protect if it is black and dirty. Change once a month until the dip stick stays clean between changes.

It will almost surely be OK, unless you were doing some unusually heavy driving, like 10,000 miles or more. Probably nothing to worry about, but don't do it next time. Late model cars' oil doesn't need to be changed as often as the older ones.

Change the oil and filter. It's not a big deal. My neighbor and I laugh about it because we fix other peoples' cars and let our own go until the oil is like molasses. Not that I would recommend it...

change it now...then change it again in about 1000 miles to get the sludge out. That is a long time and it can cause engine problems.
after you change it the second time keep up on it...it should be ok after that

uh, YEA! oil breaks down over time and leaves the engine unprotected. plus water gets into the oil and dilutes/contaminates it due to condensation (stop and go driving/ short trip driving). get the engine flushed with a good cleaner and change your oil, so long as it isnt knocking, its ok.
