My car doesn't leak oil or burn it. I started using Mobil 1 at 123,000 and haven't had a problem. My car has over 200,100 miles and still no problems.

As long as it's not leaking or burning oil, go for it. If you have to add oil between changes it's probably not worth the added expense. However, if you make it from one oil change to the next without having to add any oil there's no reason to not use it.
A well-maintained vehicle with 100k on it still has 2/3 of its service life left. Using a full synthetic oil could substantially extend its life.

If you are talking about putting synthetic oil into a car with 100,000 miles, you should not,as synthetic oil is thinner than regular oil,and there in lies the problem.your car has so many miles on it that the rings and pistons have worn,as well as other parts.to put a thinner oil into a worn engine would result in disastrous consequences, such as rapid wear on internal components of the engine.the only time one should use a synthetic lubricant in the engine is from day one when the engine is new, after determining that it would not void any warranty

seventy 9 Lincoln had 42000 when I have been given it .Used Syntec, adjustments wre at 20'000 mile durations.when I bought it it had225000 + miles on the odometer. The gentleman I bought it to remains utilising it.I replaced the oil in it for him final week. It'srustier than it became into yet nonetheless runs large. P.S. while i began out this I sent samples to an analist, and all samples got here returned with perfect scores for particulate count number and viscosity.

sure. i have a cadillac with 153,000 miles on it and i run Mobil 1 synthetic ( i assume youre asking about synthetic). it does not hurt a thing. unless you have a large leak, which would not make it economical to keep adding oil at $6 a quart. just keep in mind, synthetic is just a slight thinner than regualar oil. usually a 10w30 weight oil should work.

I've had multiple vehicles with over 200 k and never used the fancy oil, but it won't hurt, go nuts.

Unless you have been running synthetic previously, I would stick with a high quality conventional oil. If you have used synthetic in the past, then I would highly reccomend staying with it for best engine life. If you have been using conventional, then synthetic may do more harm than good. If you were using synthetic, keep using it.

No stick with what brought you. Older engines should be kept with what they have been using. Next new car might be Mobil One from the Factory like my 2006 Pontiac GTO or Porsche. or XXX

You can along as it is Synthetic. With that many miles, your engine has wear and tear. Treat it right and it will take you places.

if it's not burning any oil.
But you might go for a store brand synthetic. It's cheaper, and from what I've read there isn't a lot of difference between it and the name brand stuff.
