Possibly rear brakes, especially if it has rear drum brakes.
Other possibilities: rear struts or suspension bushings.

More info would help: does it make the noise when you hit a bump? when you put on brakes?

If you have a way to record the sound and send it to me I have a noise library on my website: I'm looking for new noises!

The sound could be your upper stut mount or bushings worn out, you can check by going to the corner of the car that appears to be making the noise and try bouncing it if the noise appears then your question is answered.

it may desire to be that your gasoline injectors are putting in too plenty gasoline. whilst this occurs there is left over gasoline spray in the exhaust inflicting tiny explosions in the exhaust equipment additionally time-honored as back firing. regardless of if it rather isn't any longer that it may desire to be that your vehicle engine is rocking inflicting the motor vehicle to shake and unfasten something up back there. it may additionally be a warped brake rubbing on the disc or drum inflicting it to make that sound. i might take it to Pepboys or something like that to get it checked.

Have the shocks and struts checked... if the clunk is when you turn or hit a bump.

Check to see if you have a loose lug nut, check them all as they may have neglected to tighten them.
