I recently had a valve job because the car wanted to stall several times and has been burning oil. The mechanic replaced a valve, and put in a new head gasket set. Now my car has more smoke coming out of the tailpipe than a smoke stack in Pittsburgh! It usually clears up after five miles, but the car isn't running that great, it smokes, and my check engine light is back on. I know the cylinders are "slightly" damaged, and the mechanic says that's the reason for the smoke. Is he right? Is there anything I can do about this?

Hi, I have a question about a sound my car is making. Its a 2000 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 liter engine with an automatic transmission, 50,000 miles and ABS brakes. There is a noise coming somewhere from the left front wheel, sort of like a cross between a squeaking and a brushing sound.

I can hear it when I'm driving, but not with the windows close, and it makes the sound on every tire rotation, so it pulses at a rate proportional to how fast I'm going. It is constant, speed or turning makes no difference. I checked the tire and it seems to be okay, so I guess the tire can be ruled out. No blockage in or anything caught in the wheel well either. What does this sound like to you?

The noise was gone for a while after I did tire rotation 2 months ago, and now it comes back. Could be time to get new brake pads?

Please Help before I choke someone. My SUV has to stay overnight in the garage.

I have a after market alarm installed. And it does crank but it doesnt turn over. (Sounds like no gas is flowing through)

Hi all, I thought the thermostat wa the problem so I replaced that and when was checking for leaks I noticed the coolant dripping from behind the fan, so I believe the radiator had a hole or crack in it. The car has 170k miles on it. I'm not sure how to, or is it cost effective to fix it, but I would appreciate any advise I could get regarding this pain in the azz. I was also wondering about some additive I could put in to seal the hole but I think thats only for metal radiators and this one is plastic, thanks all for your help, John
