i had a 1/2 tank unleaded gas and my son put in 1/2 e-85 gas on accident a week ago and it cut out alot all week and then made aloud noise and diedand will not turn over at all, can any one tell me what could have happened ? we also kept ading unleaded each day to try and dilute it down>

So yeah, my windshield wipers dont work and I live in Honolulu, and it is raining hard here .... and when it rains, it freaking pours. I tried driving but i got one block and couldnt see anything so I had to come home.

I want to know if anyone here knows any way that I can keep my windshield clear in the rain without using the wipers. I am going to go to Walmart to get window wax so the rain will slide off the glass, but do you know any other way or if that way works? Please let me know, cause right now I am stuck.

i have a 98 Muercry Mystic and i know that when i get the air compresser and blow air directly in to the air filter chamber i get more horse power, how do i achieve the same effect with out having to buy a turbo charger. any one know of a simple home made device?

my car will sputter and sound awful, ive replaced the spark plugs and it fixed it for a while but now its back. The really weird thing is that it doesnt always happen. ive literally taking off my distributor cap and put back on without doing anything and when i started the car it ran fine, atleast for a little while. Also my chack engine light is on and toyota decided to make a different type of diagnosis plug that i cant seem to get my hands on. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had the EGR valve cleaned and replaced by the mechanic but the Check Engine light came back on. He says that the code indicates the problem is the valve so he is now saying that my computer could be sending the wrong error code. Could that be true or is he lying?

ok here's the deal i was driving an the expressway and some dumbass in a pickup had a soda box that flew out and hit my car. at the time i thought it had only hit the windshield, but when i went to wash my car it had this huge scuff mark on the hood. this is my brand new 06 accord we;re talking about. so i washed it and out some muscle on it and i also got the scratch stuff like a lotion type product . it seemed to work but after some time with rain and all that i see it again . its not big but I can notice it u know and if u focus on the point u will notice it.
Any tips?????????

Hi, I drive a 1994 Dodge Caravan SE and I need a new transmission. First of all, peope keep telling me about a rebuilt transmission. Can I get a NEW transmission? If so, how much would it cost me? Anyhow, were can I go to get good service and a pritty good price? I live in Staten Island New York. Do you know any good name place were they would do a good job? How much does it usualy cost in a good place? How long would the warantee be? I thank you for your time and any information would be appreciated. My 94 Explorer has been running hot it always runs in the middle of the temp gauge no matter the outside weather, distance traveled or speed) and it becomes borderline overheating whenever I stop, sit in traffic or sit anywhere idling too long. It seems to cool down some when I'm on the highway or even moving down any road at a nice pace.

What could the problem be?

I have a 93 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It has had a different engine put in as well as a different transmission. I don't know if he did a very good job. My car started smoking only when I would acclerate to get on the highway. Then it started smoking more often. The smoke only comes out of the tail pipe. It is very sluggish, it has a lot of troble get up any speed. This has also gotten worse with the smoke. Please help with any thoughts you might have. I don't want to bring it in untill I have a little idea of what is going on. Thank you, Emily

I am getting lots of conflicting information from different mechanics. There is noise in the car, and I am not using it much now because of it. I dont want to be charged to much for something I dont need. Would wear and tear distroy brakes in 30K miles (brand new), in heavy trafic?

How much do disks/ pad's cost to replace. The stupid dealer told me 600 bucks. Yeah right. Any ideas or suggestions on national brands where its reliable and cheap?

Got lots of useful info in my last question about this, but there seem to be some differences of opinion. Here's my understanding so far. Are there any mistakes? Could you correct? Thanks!

BLACK SMOKE is soot, from incomplete combustion. The fuel isn't burning properly. Caused by:
- lack of air (clean the filter)
- cold (run it longer and on load)
- bad firing (clean the injectors, check timing, check the glows)
- deposits from the last time you ran it off load (don't do that again)

BLUE SMOKE is the lube oil burning.
Caused by:
- piston rings passing
- gasket blown

WHITE SMOKE is completely unburnt fuel flying out of the exhaust in a cloud.
Caused by: ?


So what happens if your gasket blows and you get water in the cylinders? What colour of smoke is that?

While driving along, I attempt to speed up and notice that the car won't accelerate. The engine slows down and then shuts off. I have to turn off the ignition and then restart the car. I recently had a rebuilt transmission and a rebuilt computer installed. I have taken the car to two different mechanics and they indicate since it is an intermitent problem and it is not producing a code they have no idea what it could be. It seems to occur in stop and drive traffic. I happened to me three times last night. It scares me to drive the car but I have no choice. Any suggestions????
