Gota pull the trans, and remove the one-piece. Use the INSTALLER to insert the new seal, or you may well wind up with another leak, or damage the but of the crankshaft.
As for the rod torque, it has been too long and i would only be guessing, but you might root around here------->

you can't change seal without unscrew the crank
