I have had the codes read by a mechanic and that is what he told me the problem was and I changed out the sensor. The light is still on. There was alot of dust and some metal thing in it and a magnet. But put on new one and the car still runs and operates like it did before.

You need an OBD reader to turn off the light, or you can go to a parts store such as AutoZone and they will do it as a free service.

You can disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes to clear it too. If the light is still on, the sensor may have just been a symptom, not the actual problem. I had a short in my ECU and got all kinds of strange codes leading the Ford dealership down the wrong path until one sharp guy figured out it was a short in the wiring going to the ECU. Good luck.

you need a scanner to turn the light out . If your car still has the problem the light will come back on, Just because you get a code for a cam sensor doesn't mean it is bad you may have other problems

In July, i began out the vehicle early interior the morning whilst it became very cool outdoors (possibly purely a pair of diploma's) It became chilly adequate that there became frost on the windshield. i did now not enable the vehicle heat up and merely went...bam...the service Engine gentle got here on. I had a close-by service keep attempt to be sure what the blunders message became and it back a code that it became the the main suitable option Cam Shaft Sensor. I had them sparkling it and that i referred to as the Nissan Dealership and that they pronounced to now not worry approximately it except it fires that message lower back. rn In September whilst the climate began getting chillier, i spotted that as quickly as my motor vehicle is chilly it starts to sputter. A month later the comparable blunders message got here on and lower back they replaced the Sensor. I even have had it back for 3 days and the blunders message got here on...each and each time whilst its chilly outdoors and the engine isn't heat collectively as commencing to stress. In total they have replaced the Sensor thrice and wiped sparkling the "grounding bolts" on the vehicle questioning this would be aside of the challenge. as we talk I recieved a decision from the Nissan Dealership and that they pronounced the challenge is with the Timing Chain. They pronounced the Timing Chain has stretched. I asked how this would have got here approximately and that i became recommended that that's usually simply by now not having common oil modifications. I recommended them that each and each oil replace reciept is in my glove field and that Oil modifications have continually been performed oftentimes on the motor vehicle. The service guy pronounced that, oil modifications are frequently the challenge notwithstanding it could have merely stretched. (How??? nevertheless didnt get an answer for that) query? Does this sound precise? They first theory it became the entire laptop and now the Timing Chain. they want me to pay 2200 funds to repair it. they have been consulting with thier Tech help people who recommended them, it became now not the keep Foreman.

on those particular sensors, the reason they go bad is because the synchronizer fails which also turns the oil pump driveshaft. they will keep eating up cam sensors until you replace the synchronizer.
