The engine runs smoothly while idling. Even when I first take-off it accelerates fine. Then I come ot the stop at the end of my street. When I take off the second time it becomes really sluggish after it changes into the second gear. When I push the accelerator it really doesn't speed up and if it does it's not smooth. Since this first incident occured the computer hasn't recorded any error codes but it still occassionally happens. After the engine warms up it never happens again.
I will be having the fuel filter changed tomorrow. Any other possiblel causes. O2 sensor maybe?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a 1996 Lumina and I have to say that it has 150K on it and I have never had a problem with it and the last time it had a complete tune-up the mechanic told me that my car was in amazing condition and that I had obviously taken very god care of it.

He's right, the problem is not with the car, it's with you. Wait for it to warm up. Idle it for 5 minutes. Then hit the gas mildly on neutral and keep pushing. It'll work the oil through the engine. When the engine's heated up, get ready to VROOOOOOOOOOOOM!

i might initiate with a song up and a few straightforward cleaners. Air filter out, spark plugs, spark wires, oil, oil filter out. Then run some "gummout" or "Lucas injector air purifier". Use "Seafoam" cleans construct up on your engine and gasoline device (youtube it) then do an oil exchange with a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer in it. If it does not experience greater appropriate after that, it could be a larger situation and that i might pass to mechanic.

Sounds to me like the old girl just needs to be warmed up before you start to drive.
