It's a kind of filter in your car exhaust system which remove the harmful particles in your car exhaust system. So that your car's exhaust gas may meet the required emission standard. Lamda is a unit in measuring the engine's proportion of fuel/air mixture through the exhaust gas. Rich mixture have a wide variety of causes. I recommend sending your car to a workshop authorised by your dealer & request for a OBD(On Board Diagnostic) troubleshooting session. It will determine whether there's any problems with your sensors or ECUs.Normally it is some errors in the ECU.Mechanical faults are more rare.

The cat has no longer something by any ability to do with ability. this is theoretically to get rid of pollution, and became the biggest motoring con ever in Europe. whilst we imported the belief from California (the place else?) the sole ran at above an ambient temperature of 68deg F. artwork that out. If the outer case of the cat is broken then what's occurring is the back-tension has replaced, inflicting the engine run poorly. I bumped off my cat 3 years in the past, passes the MoT nice.

CAT stands for CATalytic converter. It is in the exhaust system, right after the exhaust manifold, but before the muffler. It is designed to superheat exhaust emissions without contributing to the exhaust fumes itself.

"CAT" is short for catalyc convertor.lt is not part of the engine, but part of the exhaust system. All cars running on unleaded fuel have one.The look similar to a small muffler and are ussually just back from the exhaust manifold by about 1 metre or so.lt is illegal to remove them as they do something to help emmissions. And are very costly to replace.

the first thing to do is to replace the lambda censor this controls the fuel to air mixture of the engine, if that has gone its relatively cheep to replace, if it still fails mot then its the cat and they are expensive.
