I have a 2001 Ford Mustang that died & wouldn't start again. I replaced the fuel filter, but still nothing but starter spinning over.

First, you should hear the fuel pump buzzing in the fuel tank when you turn the key to on (not all the way to run). it should go for about 2-3 seconds and shut off. if you hear it its working. there also may be a fuel shut off switch in the trunk. a lot of fords have them. it may need reseting or replacing. if those check out ok, the timing could be way off. probably gonna need a professional to repair that. make sure there is spark at the plugs too. if they spark and you have fuel then there is something mechanically wrong with the engine or one of its components. good luck. buy GM.

That's pretty vague...

Did it die for no apparent reason?
The starter "spinning" does the engine turn? or just the starter?
Do you have spark?
Do you have gas?
Did you check your fuses?
Did it overheat?
Did you run it out of oil?

A little more info would help.

this subject can come from the battery. If the battery would not have the cranking amps that your motorized motor vehicle choose for it is going to lag. it could additionally come from the starter. on occasion starters ware out and start to drag.

1) check fuel pump
2) check for spark
3) I really think it is a timing belt.
