goes off at night & when traffick goes by .
can't find alarm system to make it ok ,

One of my grandparents has a 1980 Buick Skylark. It's one of those cars has a bench front seat. It used to have a mecanism where the whole couch would move. (Kind of like now adays where you can individually move the seat).

1. What is this mechanism called?
2. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find one?

usually it wil sound like it is tring to turn over but is not getting gas then when i get it started and pat on the gas hard it cuts out on me again..... and when i do get to drive if i dont idle it myself it will cut off So far i have changed the oil, plugs and wires and checked all fluids.....is it the fuel pump?

I know where the two big wires go. I have one from the battery and one to the load but the two smaller connectors on top have me stumped.

I really need to pass my emissions inspection in GA. My car is fine, other than my "check engine light" is on. Does anyone know how to turn off the light (this allows my car to pass). Thanks.

One day I tried starting my car. I would turn the key, but the engine would not start. I noticed the battery had some greenish, blue crust on the plugs. So I installed a new battery. It starting working til I got on the freeway and slowed down at an exit. It then stalled on me. I continued by turning the ignition on again and proceeded. But everytime I was coming to a stop, it stalled everytime. Help me please!!

Im having a problem with my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT, The cooling fan stays on all the time, even when I first start the car. This morning was in the low 50's and the fan kicked in straight away. I was reading online that this problem may be caused by the ECU. About a year and a half ago I had the ECM replaced. SO Im wondering if ECU and ECM are the same thing. Id like to get this covered by warranty. My car has 62k. Miles. Thanks for the help.

Left my lights on yesterday and my battery died.

Jumped it last night, and it started for a couple minutes, but was making a strange noice untill I put it in drive.

After putting it back in neutral, it stalled and wouldn't start.

Upon rejumping, I noticed my friend had put her side of the cables on backgrounds. There were some sparks and the cables were getting really hot.

Afterwards, the car wouldn't even try to turn over [its a Nissan Maxima if that matters]. I charged the battery at Advanced Auto Parts today, but it still won't even try to turn over. The lights, radio, etc are all seeming fully powered but for some reason no starting action.

I live an hour away from work where my car has been stranded for two days. Will anyone help me figure out how to start my car so I can get home?

when i turn them on the right one moves up and then sticks the left one doesnt move at all, but my rear wiper works ok so it cant be a fuse. any ideas???

Someone stole my 96 Civic and removed the entire instrument panel (as well as 3 of the 4 tires) Why would they need that instrument panel? And...can that be replaced? I can't figure out how the odometer would be accurate if I don't know the exact mile it read when the car was stolen. Just curious...and annoyed. Any info?

I put some kind of lubricant (Marvel Mystery oil) or something like that into the master cylinder, thinking it was brake fluid. On having my brakes changed, the mechanic showed me the rubber ring that inserts into the master c. cap. Rubber expansion-

I took off the master cylinder of the E-150 5 liter, and do not know what to do. Should I open the drain plugs on each wheel, to allow tainted fluid to escape? Then put on a new m.c. fill it with good, new brake fluid, then bleed them?

I have an 04 pontiac and everytime I turn around it seems that I am replacing the padding because they keep making this creaking, noise like the kinda noise you hear when u step on an old wooden boarded floor in an old house. Is it because the break pads are after market?? It also makes a screechy piercing noise when I break slow at a light or pull out of a parking lot. I am sick of this . Please help.
