I have an 04 pontiac and everytime I turn around it seems that I am replacing the padding because they keep making this creaking, noise like the kinda noise you hear when u step on an old wooden boarded floor in an old house. Is it because the break pads are after market?? It also makes a screechy piercing noise when I break slow at a light or pull out of a parking lot. I am sick of this . Please help.

I don't believe that using aftermarket parts is causing this problem. If you have replaced your BRAKE pads recently, it may be a matter of BREAKING them in properly. You need to make a series of several gentle stops at increasingly higher speeds before you can actually go drive on new pads. Failure to do this will result in the friction material "glazing" on the first hard stop, and significantly reducing the effectiveness and life of your BRAKES.

Try using a softer pad, Raybestos is the best pad. Also there are shims that goes on the pads and if someone left them off that will make the brakes make noises.

Your brake pads are worn out. The sound you hear is the metal backing plate on the pads dragging on the metal disc of the brake. You need to have your brakes reworked.

Bring it in. You'll probably have to replace your pads but do it soon, or you'll have to replace even more!

check out your brake rotors.... it also could be your entire brake system, or your brake lines... just take it to a mechanic, a good mechanic should know in no time how to fix it
