where is the thermostat on a 1997 F250?

Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator. Where the hose is attched to the block . That is where it is located just under that peace where the hose meets the block.
Sometimes held in place by 2 sometime 3 bolts.
Remove this flang and there is the theromostate

Follow the large hoses from the radiator to the engine. One should go to a half round housing, which the thermostat resides in.
