took my car to pep boys they say i need to do it..

on my estimate it says" radiator drain and fill"

does that mean drain and fill anti freeze??

if so and that is all it means it would be cheaper to do it my self

if that is the case which i doubt it is BUT IF IT IS where is the drainage plug on a 97 ford taurus???

I bought the 98 Taurus last month. Since then, I've had nothing but trouble out of it. It looks to be in mint condition from the paint to the interior but it runs like crap! It started missing only when warm and at 40 to 50 mph. Now it misses all the time at 30-55 mph. Now when it misses, the rpms jump and then drop and the car flutters. I've had the plugs and wires changed, I added gas treatment and I swear I think it got worse. Had the camshaft position sensor changed, still runs like crap. Now the heat won't work. The air is good and cold but when I turn on the heat, no air comes out. It ran like a top during the test-drive and I'm so frustrated with this car now. If I ever get rid of this pos, I'll never have another Ford. But for now I'm stuck with it; so does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong with it now? It's a V-6 3.0 with just over 130K.

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus with 102,000 miles on it. The brakes need to be worked on (and were a year ago - yes, same problem) My air conditioning started acting crazy end of summer and the defrost/heat for the front isn't working (not good with all our rain lately). Just the brake work last time, and an oil change, cost me over $500 for parts and labor (and I don't think it was a ripoff, except the oil change was too much.)

For a time, too, it was having difficulty shifting (it's an automatic) and the odometer/speedometer is tempermental now.

Any suggestions? Is it time? I know some cars are prone to certain problems. Know any particulars about this one?

My wife hit a curb pretty hard a few years ago, which caused alot of damage (but it was supposedly fixed).But now when Im driving and hit a bump or pothole (and when Im driving staight and quickly hit a patch of ice) the car quickly jerks or pulls back and forth, which it has never done before. Does anyone know what this might be from?? Thanks in advance!

On some cars there is a black thing attached to the door at the a-pillar. It's difficult to describe but if you're standing outside the car facing the front door, it's on the door towards the top/front part where the window goes up into the top groove. It's not on all cars and it's kinda 'D' shaped (with the D lying on it's straight side) and is about 1 inck long and about 1/4 inch high.

This is my first time changing my oil, so I need some help. I looked under the truck and I think I found the pan, but I'm not sure if I'm right. How far back is it from the engine? Is the drain plug on the front of the pan (towards the engine), on the back (towards the back of the car), or on either side of the pan (driver's or passenger's side)? The owner's guide does not explain the oil changing process very well and does not point out where the pan or drain plug is. Any detail or additional oil changing advice would help. Thanks!!

Front pads not worn rear shoes are in good cond. Rear durms ok and adjusted correctly. Truck just doesn't seam to stop well at all. Brake pedal feels ok not low or spongy maybe a little on the hard side, but is deffinetly assisted by the booster.

I have a 93 Grand AM..bought it 3 days ago. Within 24 hours of buying it died on me. After getting an oil change the battery light came on and right before it died the ABS light came on. When it died I was going 55mph at night and it just started to slow down. I kept pumping the gas to get past the bridge i was on. It was jerking a lot. I tried to jump start it but I only got like 20 feet. I put a new battery in and it got me home at least. When I bought this car..the alternator and battery are new. Soooo I'm not sure what's wrong...maybe an electrical problem??

I picked up take out for my work the ojher day and it was seafood. I put it in my trunk and when I opened the trunk to take the bags out I realized that one of the bags tipped over and some "fish juice" had spilled in the trunk of my NEW car!! I washed it with a carpet cleaner, did not work, sprayed febreeze, did not work, finally I got it detailed. The smell is still there not as bad as before but my whole car REAKS!! I have car fragrances for the good smell all over my car! I need help?? Can anyone give me an idea that WILL WORK?? I cannot stand the smell anymore!

the insurance company total my 1990 Dodge Omni it only had 104,000 miles on it it still runs and drives all it need was a hood a fender and a bumper they told me why they total it was cus they can't buy the parts for the car any more witch they lie cus i went to the dodge dealer and they have all the parts for about $250 is thier any thing i could do? they have not sent the $ yet but i'm going to ask them why they lie for? and if i fix it can i still drive it? i live in michigan please kelp asap

We have a 2000 Ford focus SE. The windshield wipers stop working while driving in the rain. We looked it up on the internet and found there had been a recall on the wiper motor. When we called our local ford co. where the car was purchased, they told us there had never been a recall on the ford focus at all. Its all over the internet that it has been recalled for many things, and these sites even list the parts # and the date of the recalls. We called a toll
free # for the ford co. that is supposed to give you a list of recalls based on your vin#. When we called this #, the recording said the same thing. No recall for this car. In the meantime, we are stuck with a car that we can't drive when it's raining. My wife was taking my 6 yr. old grandson to school when it first happened. She couldn't see anything. she slowly got into the turn lane and just had to stop and wait for them to come back on. The finally did, but they cut off 8 more times before she could get back home.
