Just because a battery is more expensive than others doesn't mean it's any better. For example Wal-Mart's Everstart batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls who also makes other big name batteries. My wife's car has an Everstart which has been going strong for almost 4 years. Sears DieHard are very good. I've had several in cars I bought but never purchased one myself. I know the DieHard Gold in my car was $75 brand new. Also Interstate are excellent battery but very expensive. In all honesty I think you can go out and purchase any battery and it'll be reliable whether it's from Sears, walmart or Autozone. All batteries are quality. As with anything it's possible to get a lemon but the chances are slim on that happening. Also all batteries come with 1, 2, or 3 year free replacements and prorated warranties up to 100 months. So don't worry about it. Buy what you can afford. If you only have $40 go to Walmart. There's nothing wrong with that. Even better is that Walmart's are everywhere so the chances of getting help when you need is greater.

Best Car Battery Brand

In my opinion (experience) it's best to go with a gel cell battery. These are commonly available at auto parts stores under many names and come in all the standard sizes and ratings.

The battery that made it well known was the "Optima" but you can get a house brand at Napa and Auto zone.

They are the best because basically they are sealed and rely on an acid gel and proprietary spiral design to create better surface contact stability and reliability. They are also non-maintenance and need no topping off with deionized water. Lastly since they are sealed and don't give off acid, they do not corrode the surrounding metal or wiring.

I've had one in my hobby car that's been run down more times than I can count during storage. It always comes back to 100% on slow charge. It's 8 years old! I also have one in my daily driver that's 6 years old. Try that with a stock battery! The factory Honda battery lasted less than 2 years :'\

NAPA Car Battery is the best car battery to purchase. The NAPA performance battery lineup is a decent battery. However, the short 24-month warranty leaves more to be desired, especially at the price. That being said, the battery can handle a wide range of temperatures and comes in many different sizes to fit your particular application

It depends on your climate and what type of vehicle. Different brands are better in certain circumstances. If you live in a warm climate, just get the cheapest kind you can that has the recommended CCA (cold cranking amps). If your car is exposed to winter you will want a better battery.
