Mufflers vary in price... I recommend going with a Free-flow design, such as a cherry bomb muffler.
Personally, I feel they are a waste of money. Their are many other modifications I would do first before a muffler.

It depends on the type of car and on your budget. Anyways here's what you need;
A good tune up to start with
An cold air Intake leke the ones KN&N manufactures
A muffler replacement; I'd very much preffer Flow Master than any other brand
The tips are just cosmetic but if you get some decent two and a half inches would be good for a smaller car
If all of the above is not enough get a hot computer chip from Superchips dot com
If it is a single pipe (which most 4 cylinders cars have unless it is a V6) leave it like that. Do not split the exhaust into two or this will minimize the noise
Brrrrmm you are ready to rumble!
Ooops all my shared knowledge just for a stupid joke? Tell your friend to grow up.

A "cat-back" system will run anywhere from $285 to as much as $1000, depending on the car and materials being used. It is best if you have a pro install it as a minor leak can kill the occupants of the vehicle. Do not let anyone take the catalytic converter off as that is against federal laws, unless the car is older than a 1976 vehicle.

If this is just for a joke I wouldn't waste the money on anything expensive. Try calling your local auto parts store or muffler shop for the different prices. You could always just disconnect the exhaust from the manifold and run it with out any pipes at all but that is dangerous as flames would shoot out.

all you need to do is unblolt the exhaust before the the first muffler then it will be very noisey and scarry but no damage will occour and cost nothing and can be put back to normal with easy and a peminit fix buy and weld or bolt in new exhaust system

Those are retarded. Anyone that knows something about cars will know her car is nothing special. It will just sound like a head of crap like the rest of the wanna be fast & the furious POSs out there. Tell your friend to save some money for the drinking problem she will probably develop when she turns 21.

couple of minutes period, no. Your ears might want to damage yet your engine will be high quality. there's a small chance that, by the years, operating and not using a muffler might want to reason your exhaust valve to apply up.

If it is a joke, just unscrew the bolts from exhaust manifold to pipe to see the reaction, after the joke bolt again, it is free. Regards
