Dont feel like the lone ranger..parts are expensive for all vehicles these days...case in point...alternater for a 2001 chevy truck...$190.. while one for a 1977 chevy truck is about $40.. go figure...

i believe car companies would rather us purchase new cars rather than have us repair our "older" cars. They probably don't make the money they would like to make on parts so they jack-up the price to discourage people from "doing-it-yourself".
