Bill is driving his Dodge along a country road and all of a sudden his car has a breakdown. He coast to the side of the road, gets out and surveys the problem. He figures he can't fix the car so he calls his friend George on the cell phone. George says he will be right there, gets in his Pontiac and drives to where Bill is. George looks the problem over, goes to his trunk, gets out a tow rope and has Bill tow his (George) Pontiac back with his (Bill) Dodge.

I bought a 84 GMC s15 jimmy the other day, and i went to change the fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, and oil because i live in california and there's strict smog laws. didnt want to risk failing the test so i was doing this. anyways, the fuel filter is the kind where it's in the carburetor and the fuel line goes into the housing for it. i guess the nut for the fuel line was stripped and it won't go back in. itll screw half a turn and then fall right back out. i tried using gasoline safe plumber tape and sealer, it went in a little farther, but it popped right back out when i started the engine and some pressure came through. what would you say is the fastest way i could get this fixed and back on the road? i need help quick because i need to get to work, might be able to borrow a truck for tommorow but i need it fixed QUICK. help?

2006 Chevy 3500 HD 6.6 Isuzu Diesel 6 spd Allison Auto Trans 6331 miles.
When I come into a town and coast down from 70 mph to 40 mph the trans stays in 6th gear lugging the rpm to 1100. Needless to say it gets pretty jerky. I have a Hobart 10k welder, Oxy/Acetylene bottles, Huge air compressor, and a 3ton 21 ft Auto Crane, Replacement filters for detroit 8v71 and 8v92 engines, 1 set swabs and liners for garner denver 4 1/2" mud pumps, 10gal 40w oil, 6 gal antifreeze, 5 gal 90Wt., and a complete master set of mechanics tools (sockets and wrenchs up to 3 1/2 " ) "oil field" The truck is weighed down pretty good.
It was purchased as cab & chassis.

Does anyone know of any updated calibrations that might address this issue. Keep in mind the symptom is intermittant. I just think it should downshift on it's own at 1100 rpm's maintaining 42 mph.
I checked alldata and got nothing.
The dealer was a waste of time too.
Please Chevy Guru's, tell me I have the wrong VB,PCM or calib.

It's a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge. It was about $10,000 worth of damage (drive train replaced, fuel tank replaced, some frame work, muffler, wheel stuff, etc.). People are telling me just to sell it ones it's out. Insurance paid $9000. Is it a good idea to sell it? Reasons to sell or not to? How much do you honestly think I can make from it? I also owe about 7 grand on it too. Whould it make sense to sell it and buy an Ranger XLT instead? Thanks in advance.

I remember back when you could have your rotors turned 4 or 5 times before you had to have them replaced, now it's like you have to replace them on your first brake change. I don't know about you, but I smell a rat here.

I have a 1997 ford contour. My car cuts off on me most of the time when I am in stop-n-go traffic. Sometimes the engine will rumble a few times before it cuts off, but most of the time it just cuts off when I slow down. Can anyone tell me any possibilites of what could be wrong with it?

I have been hearing a clicking noise when I turn the wheel. It doesnt always happen while I am driving.. But if I put the car in park with the car running and turn the wheel back and forth.. I can definately hear the noise. I have had the struts replaced, brakes replaced.. I have been told that it could be the rack and pinion or tie tods. How much do tie rods usually cost? Has anyone dealt with the same problem? They have also lubricated some parts to see if that would help. Nothing has seemed to work. I have been given the run around. So if anyone has an idea of what this could be and how much it would cost to repair it I would greatly appreciate it.. Thanks!!
