I have a used 2003 Toyota Celica GTS that has the "ABS" dash light indicator thats "on" when driving. Is there a way to check or troubleshoot the problem without going to the dealer?

ABS stands for Anti-lock Braking System.
Like a previous person said, check the brake fluid level. If that's not the problem, take it to the dealer.

Best solution is get an older Celica. Mine is a '78. GT 5 speed
Car is much simpler. Bought for $800. I work on it myself and have the skinned knuckles to prove it. Little peanut car will Kick Butt at stoplights and really shines on a crooked road. Might beat yours............RWD Rules! Not real fast but it will do 70mph in 3rd gear, gets about 25mpg with my foot on the floor. All celicas are very close to being true sportscars. Folks get real upset when outrun by a 28 yr old 96 hp heap with over 150,000 miles on it. Especially when they spent over $30,000 for their ride. Drive Your Celica like U stole it! GREAT car! Do we really need those "Stinking brakes" ?

Celica is way better than an eclipse...you won't be paying as much insurance for a celica as you would for an eclipse

Go to Brake Check!
Probably a wheel speed sensor.

Check the connectors. If nothings found loose, take it to brake check or other brake shop and make them show you what they find wrong. ( pretend like you understand )

It needs to be put on a computer and have the code checked.Check around it shouldn't cost much to have it checked.
