The handle is still there it just doesn't open the door

Take off the interior panel on the door and look for where the rod connects to the handle. It probably poped off from the handle side.

More than likely the connecting rod that goes from the latch mechanism to the handle is disconnected. It may just have bent a little and popped out, - (the keepers aren't the best on these) If the "tab" that the rod hooks on to is broken off, you will have to get another handle assembly. The inside handles on lots of the newer cars aren't too sturdy (they saved money by making them lighter)!
