I have heard of a lot of conversions using the front suspension and steering out of the 76-78 mustang. I hear the rack and pinion design is simple and easy to retrofit to other vehicles. I have owned both a 76 and a 77 Mustang. I sold the 77 about 2 years ago, and after trying to sell it complete and running, I got more offers from people building street rods who just wanted the front suspension and steering. I do not know the details of what would be involved to convert it to fit, but I know it is a popular choice when modifying.

Just about any frame could be made to fit, however, I would look online for a custom frame builder.
