It's a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge. It was about $10,000 worth of damage (drive train replaced, fuel tank replaced, some frame work, muffler, wheel stuff, etc.). People are telling me just to sell it ones it's out. Insurance paid $9000. Is it a good idea to sell it? Reasons to sell or not to? How much do you honestly think I can make from it? I also owe about 7 grand on it too. Whould it make sense to sell it and buy an Ranger XLT instead? Thanks in advance.

You are required by law to give a damage disclosure to someone when you sell your vehicle -- 10k worth of repairs, no matter how good the repairs were done, will chase away most pontential buyers unless you fire-sale it. If you like the truck and if the repairer is reputible and the repairs are up to industury standards there is no reason why it would'nt be just as good as it was before the loss. A lot of 'ifs' but I deal with this everyday and I know that vehicles CAN be repaired properly and be trouble free afterward.

well i dont know why insurance didnt write it off if the frame was damaged..
but i'd pocket the 9 grand and sell the truck for parts.
if you sell it, you HAVE to tell the person you sell it to that it has been in an accident.. so you probably wont get what you want out of it.
