What fantastic technical innovations have occured that mean cars these days have over 20,000 mile service intervals, when in the late 90s they were like 9000 miles?
I always understood that engine oil should be changed at least every 10,000 miles (5000 for diesels), how come new cars don't need this, or is it just marketing rubbish? If this is a case, how often should you really get your cars oil changed, if you want it to still be going strong after 10 years?

Olds Alero 2002 Are there two fuses for the fan, one for first three speeds and one for highest two? Or maybe two motors? Only the top two speeds out of five work, and they work great. This is a weird one to me, and your comments are going to be helpful. Thanx

Is everyone except me retarded? Do you really think that Xenon headlights are just a blue halogen bulb? A true "Xenon" or HID bulbs is totally different and produces a completely different light. They work similar to a flourescent bulb, they have no filament. If you bought some 20 dollar blue bulbs at Walmart, you are lying if you say you have "Xenon" headlights... sorry posers!!!! Secondly, they are NOT illegal if your car was built with them. Thirdly, the only ones that blind people are the ones that are aftermarket or are not self leveling. Audis and BMWs immediately self level when on a hill or over bumps so you will never be blinded by them. I thought this was common knowledge until I saw some ladies question and read the funny responses, look at my answer, find her question and read how stupid people are!!! FUN

I've noticed a lot of a new cars have those real bright almost blue-ish white headlights. I really like how well you can see with them. Is there a specific name for them? And do you have to buy new headlights and put them in or can you just buy the lamps and put them in the original headlights? I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma with regular lights right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've been quoted 2700.00. I mean the car was still running, only after about an hours time would it start to shutter in the first couple gears until it got to crusing speed. I feel I'm being ripped off!

I have just bought a 2 year old car and notice when I drive it that there is a knocking coming from the rear. I have emptied the car totally so know that it is nothing rolling around. The knocking seems to be worse when travelling slowly and going round corners. My Dad seems to think it is the shock absorbers but does anyone else have any idea. Should I take it back to the garage and get them to check it out? I find the noise really annoying!

My M reg corsa is seriously on it's way out. There's a terrible knock, and clicking coming from the area around the cambelt, and when I looked inside the cambelt casing when the car was idling it was moving side to side!! We're desperately trying to find a new car as mine is only worth about £300 if that so not worth having it all fixed. My question is.. how long before my car dies an almighty death as I still have to get to work etc while I hunt for a new car! These problems have only escalated in the past month since we did a 200m round trip to go on holiday! HELP!

you have no problem bringing it to them for the "free" warranty stuff, but when it comes to maintance you take it to guys who dont have any training on your make and model...

please dont say that the dealer is more exjpensive - you get factory trained techs and factory parts - and there oil changes are less then jiffy lubes

anyhow - after "down the road motors" cant fix your car - guess where he takes it?
