Even if the new exhaust system does not include an O2 sensor, it may be a good idea to replace them at this time. My car has 2 sensors. The car manufacturer recommends replacing the sensors about every 100K miles.

If you are swapping stock exhaust for stock exhaust there is no reason why you cannot reuse a good O2 sensor. A new sensor costs from $80 to over $300 new. If you are going with a high performance exhaust like a racing header, be sure to look into the legality of running it on the street. If it doesn't have the same threaded connector for the O2 sensor you'll have not only smog check problems, but also your car will run bad without further dynomometer tuning.

It depends on how many O2 sensors you have. Some vehicles use only a pre-cat sensor and some use both a pre-cat and after-cat sensor. If you have a V6 or V8, you will have sensors for both sides of the engine. If your car does have an after-cat sensor, a new cat-back exhaust should include a place for the sensor and utilize your existing sensor. While your there though, remember that O2 sensor replacement it usually between 60k and 100k miles, so if your neer that, you might as well replace them, as it will be no extra labor.

either way if you have to just remove the old one and reinstall it onto your new exhaust , the location of the O2 sensor should not change

If it a cat back system, the old one will stay in place.
