You have a dry, worn, or damaged CV halfshaft and possibly worn or damaged front wheel bearings. Probably due to excessively hard turning or hitting something while turning.

Possibilities:
1. Your Wheel Bearings are worn out. If the car has ever been in water up to half of the height of the tire, water could have gotten into the wheel bearing and then you'd lose the grease in there and the bearing would slowly start to disintegrate - thus the eventual soft grinding sound you hear when you turn to Both Left and Right.

2. Your Brakes are going bad AND either
a: your tires are out of balance
b: the bearing that keeps the Axle in place is worn so the Axle spins in a not-perfectly-round manner, thus the shaking.

3. your tires & Wheels are not stock and are too large for the wheel well so when you turn to either side the tire scrapes a little bit on the inside of the wheel well.

4. Your front Shock absorbers are so worn out that your tires scrape against the inside of the wheel well when you turn, because the car is sitting too low up front.

5. The Disc Rotors are warped - causing the shaking when you turn and apply the brakes and the soft grinding sound when you haven't applied the brakes because the warped disc is occasionally rubbing up against the brake Calipers.

Sounds like a combination of suspension wear and bearing trouble (which could inlude CV's). If you continue to drive it you will only make it much worse -- and very quickly. You'll also mess up your tires a lot faster.

Get it fixed by a qualified mechanic. Soon.

mine was doing that too and then I finally looked at my tires and had this huge gaping area where the tread was coming off. I got 4 new tires and its doing great. I would just take a look at the tires and go from there.
