Maintenance & Repairs - September 2006

How can i tell if my wheel bearings are bad? I replaced my Calipers on both sides and my pads. I can't do my rotors myself b/c it's a 97 honda and there pressed on. My rotors are in need of replacing but smooth and i don't believe them to be the cause of my grinding noise. The grinding noise is when i am driving and gets worse at higher speeds and tends to pulsate a bit. When i apply the brakes it doesn't get any worse and feels good under the foot? Could my bearings be gone? Thanks to all you techs out there I appreciate the help!

Have trouble getting this motor right the rotation is cc and I believe the cyls. are 1-4 frt. to back on dr. and 5-8 on pass. ft to . back I just need some help with the order and if I am right with the cyl.#s Thanx for any help

My truck won't even start and the mechanic says that this is what needs replaced. I have checked with Advanced Auto online and they don't even list this item for my truck. Could it be called another name? What exactly does this part do? I would appreciate any help or advice that you may have.

1999 corolla was not working, went to a local auto parts store he put a new fuse in and smoke started to come out from the top of by interior by my light ,it was working but we took out the fuse car runs perfect no other electrical trouble any ideas besides going to a rip off electrical mehanic or can i rought it with out a radio? to paul i live in ny unless you know your mechanic u in trouble i bet your trust worty buy ny is different

Last year the heat worked fine, and recently I've had a lot of coolant system work done. I replaced the water pump, and had two heater hoses replaced, so what are some reasons why my heat won't come on now.

It was fine until I got an oil change last week. Since that day, it has a very hard time getting up hills. I have no problems otherwise. It also gets very loud while going up the hill. HELP!!!!

i have a '96 chevy s10 pick-up V6, good maintenance, worked well until 3 weeks where i noticed a serious drop in the gasmileage; i'm loosing about 50-60 miles on a tank... it's a lot !!
no misfire, tank cap is sealed, air and fuel filter are new. my mechanic worked 20 years for GM, has his own shop now and is puzzeled...
anybody has a clue ??

I replaced my 2 sensers in my 98 f-150 but my truck is still running like crap.It runs good when im on the road driving but when I stop at a light ,the truck idols down and I have to put it in neutral or it will die on me.It doesnt do it until im stopped for about 30+seconds then it starts acting upIt does not backfire or anything like that.anyone have any ideas to what might be the problem?

I have a 97 mustang that the fiberglass on the hood fell off. Thats right it fell off. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I have had 2 people tell me that their car did it too ( but I haven't seen their cars). Before I contact Ford I wanted to know if this was really an isolated incodent.

mower is 2yrs old but used freq. trbl started when mowing tall wet grass. Overheated and would'nt start until cooled down. cleaned carb. w/ spray, changed oil, filters, new belt. still very sluggish???? Could there be another fuel filter? the one I changed was between 2 hoses visable from carb. to gas tank.

we were removing the harmonic balancer with a puller when that little rod you stick inside there broke off, its now lodged in there and we realy dont know how to remove it without ******* up the threads, any suggestions?
