Do not Run with that fuse in. Your problem is like the other guy said near where you saw the smoke, it is probably the wire to the light. could be the frame of the Light cutting into the Wire, and when you put the fuse in place, it will smoke until you get it fixed. If you don't need the light wait, till you have other problems then get all of them fixed. This will not be a problem if you leave the fuse out. Good luck, and ask co-workers if they know a good honest mechanic.

You have a short in the wiring by the light. With the fuse out, there is not current to the light, so there is no danger in driving the vehicle. Have the wiring checked, the problem is near where you saw the smoke!

Its safe enought to drive without that fuse but usually that fuse wont just be on the interier light, there will be other things that dont work.take the lens out and see if you can see the source of the short, probably a wire rubbed.

you can drive with out your radio for know but I would not consider messing around with your cars wiring because if you mess some thing up you could be in for some serious repairs or you could short some thing out which could result in a fire. I would take you car to a good mechanic shop who specialises in electric work.
