My car has the symptoms described in the recall (shaking at highway speeds). The vibration in the steering occurs between 50 and 60 mph and settles down afterwards.

I recently took my car into the shop because the breaks were making a popping sound and were pretty loud. According to the technician, my rotors are rusted and it will cost about $450 to fix them--rotors are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Should I get them fixed now or are they more of an annoyance that can wait to be fixed?

About a little over two months ago I bought a car through a local big dealership. I have made a payment or two on it and we have not received our warranty papers. I had called about a month ago to let the dealer know and they said it was ok that the warranty company may be slow at getting the paperwork back to us and for us to call. We called and the company said they are sending papers to us and we should receive them in a few weeks. Well I received them a few days ago and the paperwork says the warranty was denied because it says the mileage on the vehicle was over their allotted amount for the particular warranty. I called the dealership and they said they would have to go back and redo the warranty and write it for about 200 miles less then what the vehicle actually had on it at the time of purchase and resubmit it. They also said they may end up having to change the warranty plan if they can't adjust. Can they do that or can I tell them I want my money back if they can't deliver?

I recently bought a 97 Honda Civic and took it to be smogged. I just got my driver's license and this is my first car. When I took it to be smogged all areas passed but the system malfunction light, so my car failed on that one error. However, the check engine light never comes on and I feel the mechanic is just trying to get me to come back and make money off of unnecessary repairs. The mechanic told me that the system malfunction light came on because I had just changed the cars battery and the Honda's computer had no memory, to drive it around for 100 miles to build a memory and bring it back, it should pass, according to the Smog Technician. I think this sounds ludicrous. Anyone with knowledge please leave some feedback. Thanks.

I guess I just want to know does this affect other parts of the car that will eventually make it unsafe or does it ONLY affect the Air Conditioning (and in a way that is not dangerous)?

I heard that you can't leave it in the rain, but I don't have a garage and I live in Florida so I don't really have a choice but to let it get rained on. I've never had my car painted before, so I'm not real certain on what kind of after-care you have to do. Anyone know??

My 97 Sunfire's Timing Chain broke and the Pontiac dealership is saying it's gonna cost about 1500 to fix. I told the guy it's not even worth that much and how much is it for you just looking at it and he told me it was $280 just for them looking at it to see what was wrong... I told them what was wrong. What should I do? I'm not paying them almost 300 for them to have done nothing to the car to fix it!

I had my car serviced by a dealer (the car was not bought there and is not covered by any warranties) to repair a brake line. The manager said they would replace all brake lines (front and rear) for $450. When I picked up my car, only one line was replaced (the line going from the master cylinder to the hose, where the line then separates for the rear left and rear right). I was not happy, since the Midas shop in town said they would have done replaced all brake lines for $360. I didn't mind the fact that I had paid for dealer-brand service, but what bothered me was the dealer did not do all the work they said they would do. What actions can I take to get a refund, get the job fully done, or something else?

my uncle has a toyota 4runner that's like 2001 or something and it comes with an air vent on the hood. i checked it out and his car isnt turbo charged or anything, the air just blows on the engine and helps keep it cool.
i was wondering, wouldnt the excess dust and water would hurt the engine instead of helping it?

this is because i want to change my hood to something similar to his too, for the look and so my engine can stay cooler.
