I wonder if anyone around, who has average (or indeed, above average or perhaps even fantastic) knowledge of what's inside car's bonnet (or "hood", as Americans would say).

While driving to work this morning, I'd shedload of smokes coming out of my bonnet/hood & the "arrow" was pointing on (or very close to) "hot".

I tried pouring 5 standard bottls of water but I don't think I'll be able to travel back home i.e. a distance of 15 miles.

Someone recommended me to have some sort of "radiator filler" & then to top the radiator with water.

If that's the case, what exactly should I be looking for in a shop & how do I go about using it. However, if that's not the case, I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I've got Suzuki Vitara 3 door.

Under the sub-heading "Washing Your Vehicle" is says: Do not use cleaning agents that are petroleum based, or that contain acid or abrasives". However, I just purchased a bottle of Rain Dance liquid wax and I noticed it contains Petroleum Distillates.

Are those two things the same? Is a car wax that contains Petroleum Distillates considered "Petroleum-based"? Does that mean I should not use this product on my brand new car?

Then again, I wondered, why would the maker of Rain Dance manufacture a product that would be harmful to any type of paint surface?

Anyway, your insights on this (those of you who are well versed in this subject) are very much appreciated. Thank you for taking a minute and have a pleasant Labor day weekend!

Every now and then when I go to give my car a little gas the pedal sticks and I have to push down a little harder. It doesn’t stick a whole lot but you can definitely tell it does not go down that easy. Any Ideas on why that might be happening?

I have checked the coolant, and it is fine, it is not hot out, and I am not driving far. Could it be the air filter, or anything else?

I have an AWD Chevy Astro and it has been acting funny lately. Sometimes when accelerating from a stop it seems to be "pulsing". I'm not sure if this is transmission slip or something with the AWD. I've never had an AWD before so I'm not sure if I should feel anything like this from the AWD. Any experiences with this?

The engine starts fine and the high beams work fine, too. It's only the low beams that's the problem.

When I inserted a new copy of my key into the ignition and turned it on, a "Pass Key" light started flashing and the car shutt off after a few seconds. Is this some kind of security feature? If so, how can I make satisfactory copies of my key? or override the security feature?

Whenever I turn on the air in my car, whether it be the vent, AC, or the defrost, my engine will rev up every 30 seconds or so. I've also noticed that the battery gauge slightly jumps lower directly before the engine revs up. I have a '95 Ford Thunderbird. Any advice?

The truck has a 5.7 350. It fires and starts for about one full second and shuts off. Even if I pump the gas it just coughs. After it dries up outside the truck starts fine. It runs great after started. The only problem is getting it running. I've changed the distributer cap, rotor button, plugs, and wires. What could be the problem?

I'm thinking of buying a 2004 Redline with 28,000 miles on it....and putting a transferable bumper to bumper warranty on it through to 75,000 or 100,000 miles. I'm sure the car was driven at least a bit hard, and I would drive it hard a fair amount of the time.
I'm concerned that even with an extended warranty, the car might be in the shop a lot, and that after the warranty, the car might be at risk of being rendered worthless by the drivetrain failing.
I've heard supercharged cars wear out fast.
Any thoughts?

My car started running funny about a week ago, and my check engine light came on around the same time. I brought my car in to a shop and they said there was an oil leak going into the spark plugs, which damaged the wires and plugs. To replace the plugs, wires and valve gasket they want to charge me $365!!! I had my egnition wires and plugs changed 3 months ago - and had an oil change one month ago. How could this happen and how do I know if the charges are legit? I feel that I am being taken advantage of because I am young and I am a woman. I cant afford to do this anymore.
