If your bands are worn they will slip. There is one cheap remedy and no gurantee and that is to drop the pan and fileter and replace it, but youy may not get many more miles on it. I did that one time and it drove for another two months and crashed out.
The best way to fix the problem is to rebuild the trans.

Bad news my friend...from what you are saying, the tranny's done. Sounds like the clutch pack is shot from a combination of wear and low fluid. If you want to make a last-ditch attempt , you can drain the fluid, drop the pan, replace the filter and fluid, and see if it makes a difference...but it might just make it worse because the metal shavings and gunk in the old fluid were probably all the worn clutches were using to grab onto. It sounds like it's rebuild or replacement time.
I'd either go with rebuilding, or going to a salvage yard to find a good used one. Considering it's a '94, I would assume you would want to keep cost to a minimum, so that might be the way to go. If you do go "used", once you install it, give it a new filter & fresh fluid, and you should be good to go again.

Hope this helped.

Try a fluid and screen change. Automatic transmissions will not work at all if they cannot pump fluid. There is a screen in the bottom of the trans pan that acts like a filter. If it's picking up tons of crap it could be clogged after 10 minutes of driving. The real question is where did the crud come from?

This is tough to diagnose... trannys are complicated and sometimes the simplest things can make them go ti@@s up.

If you have overheated the engine, or have never had the fluid changed you can try changing the fluid and filter and see if it fixes the problem.

If you had slippage for awhile it may be too late.

The problem is, unless you get it diagnosed you don't know if it's the fluid, your computer is bad, the front pump on the tranny is bad or it's just worn out.

It sounds like your fluid has been too low for too long, and your clutches got burned up from slipping. Time to have it rebuilt or replaced.

It has to be your transmission fluid. It has to be. I can not imagine why it would be worse unless you used the wrong fluid.

Sounds like your clutch is gone or the actuator is going bad (if its automatic). Probably time to take it in to AAMCO and have it rebuilt.
