My 1993 Nissan Maxima makes a clacking noise whenever I put it in the reverse gear. What could be the problem? Thanks for your input.

I have a 4.8L engine, 97 Lincoln Continental. I see water spots and or antifreeze, just had the oil checked if the head gasket is blown how long will I be able to drive it and or could it be something wrong with my fans. Oil looked black prior to having heater valve and thermostat put in. No steam coming from the tailpipe. Could it be the radiator or water pump? Car ran hot twice before having the above items put on. I also bought a motor for my fan. I tried running my air conditioner and temperature started going up. Cut air off and gauge went back down so where is the antifreeze going? Also water had been put in the coolant reservoir, I put antifreeze in after car started to get hot.

i have recently installed a chevy 350 in my jeep wrangler. i have welded the motor mounts in and i have use the adapter to bolt the motor up to my tranny bolted in the starter wired the alternator and i have hooked up all my P.S connections is there anything else i have to do

My mechanic says this is common on Isuzu Troopers from the '97 era. I had a terrible noise. Thought it was the water pump, but then realized the noise wasn't coming from there. Couldn't really localize the sound, but thought maybe the timing belt was coming apart or something.
And ideas?

New part preferred. Live in Queens, NYC, but I'd order over the world wideweb if no choice. Ford said new part is obsolete. Lee Myles can't complete their own rebuilding job, and linkage is really faulty without a good shifter cable and hardware to hold linkage steady. Oft times, car does not get into reverse or drive because of this.

some dumb soccer mom on her cell phone crept over in my lane a couple days ago and i hit a curb avoiding her at around 50 mph, now when i make a sharp turn (not gentle turns) i hear a sound that goes something like pop-pop-pop-pop-creeeak-pop sound. im not good with cars, anybody have an idea of what the problem might be/price tag on fixing it?

I recently got a 1994 Mazda Protege from a dealer, for a steal!
They did tell me the serpentine belt isn't the greatest (and YES, they are going to fix it as part of the sale).
I just wondered exactly what it is.
Sure, I could look it up. But then y'all wouldn't get any points!! :-) :-)

What could be wrong with my car, I drove it to the store and when I came back out it keeps turning over when i turn the ignition forward, but it won't click to start up. I haven't had any problems with it except I feel some stallig sometimes when I am trying to speed up or inbetween gears when it is shifting I can feel it lag a little. Any suggestions?

Today all of the sudden when I went to roll up my passenger side front window, it would not go up. I have power windows so I tried from the drivers side and from the passenger side as well and nothing. When you try to roll it up, you can hear a sound like it's trying to roll up but nothing happens. All of the other windows will go up except for that one. Help!!!

This car is fitted with door locks, that lock automatically, when driven over fifteen MPH.
It doesn't do that anymore, but will lock, when I do it manually, with the power switch. Any ideas as to cause and fix?

Its is a manual transmission and it does the same in nuetral. The engine bogs way down if you press on the gas above 2500 rpms. it even stalls out if gas is pressed far enough. some people have said its the vaccum hoses. but I'm just looking for another opinion before I take it in, please help.

I bought this over a month ago and it has been increasing its oil consumption--over a quart per fillup now. The catalytic converter had to be replaced; oil consumption jumped. Now I have a black smudge on the bumper.

Compression is good. We can see a leak, but it is minor and cannot account for the vast amounts of oil it is comsuming.
