It could be a combination of your front strut and alignment. My wife hit a log on an entrance ramp and it made a similar sound. We had the strut fixed, alignment adjusted and bought two rims for $900.

There is no second guessing what that problem is, It is your CV joint. I am 100 % sure that is the problem, when you hit the curb, it got damaged. You are lucky you didnt get more damage going at the speed you were. You will have to replace the entire halfshaft ( that is what the front axles on a front wheel drive car is called ) A reputable mechanic would need to do this because there are special tools required to remove the hub assembly to get the shaft out. The cost of halfshaft run anywhere from about $65 to $125, depending on the car plus the mechanic's hourly labor rate. Get an estimate from him and hold him to it. Good luck

I agree, it is definitely your cv joint (not boot, like someone else said), the boot is just a cover for the joint to keep dirt and grime from entering the joint, which can also cause problems.
Anyway, take it to a mechanic and have them check and replace your cv joint...you will definitely have to have a front end alignment done on the vehicle also after the work is completed. Also check your rim for any damage, it may have to be replaced, if it is damaged, it will cause problems with the balancing of the wheel on that side causing a steering wheel vibration at higher speeds. You are looking at anywhere from $250-$900 for the complete repair depending on the severity of the damage, cost of parts, and the hourly cost of the mechanic you choose. get it looked at asap as this could result in injury or death to you or someone else if a critical part fails while in motion.

To help firgure out what is causing the pull swap the front wheel and tire side to side (right side to left side and vice versa). If the car pulls to the left, then its most likely the tire or wheel damage. The tire can cause a pull especially being a used tire. If that doesn't fix it, get an alignment. It doesn't take much to knock out it out. The most your friend could help with swapping the wheel/tire, but make sure to torque the wheels properly when you reinstall. As far as the wawawa noise, it sounds like the tire has uneven wear, most likely on the inner or outer edge of the treads. Tires should generally be smooth, when they aren't the edge will be generally rough when you run you hand across it. Hope this helped and good luck.

Sounds like you destroyed the CV joint and the strut. Go to a junk yard and unbolt the top bolts from the strut under the hood, then pop the lower ball joint off, then yank the half-shaft out and the whole assembly will come out as one piece....oh, don't forget to disconnect the brake line. Then pull yours and install the one from the junk yard. Bleed the brake line and take the car for a front-end alignment. Good luck.

My boyfriend had the same problem with his car.. His from axel was broken at the cv joint. Its probably not a good idea to continue driving it around and if you have to as little as possible. We found out what the problem was once the front end fell off the axel!

i had a 1991 mustang that did that same thing, it was a $30 balljoint (mind you it went completely before i realized it, in the middle of town my whole front end pretty much hit the ground.
Could be a strut, but probably a cv joint or a balljoint.

You aren't too specific, but i'd go with the weakest part in your front end.Check your tie-rod on the side you hit the curb on.while you are under there look for anything strange or out of place.

Could be a balljoint or CV boot. I'd also have the suspension checked - you could have a cracked/broken spring. If it goes totally, you're leaving the road.
